Sangyn Rotary Landline Phones 1960s Old Style Retro Corded Telephone with Mechanical Ringer for Home Office Desk

Love this red retro rotary landline desk telephone from Sangyn. Looks identical to the old Western Electric 500 rotary telephone, with a hint to its touch tone push buttons cousin. Designed to work with modern connections, and has two important extra holes in its dial wheel. So the Sangyn can be used for everything because it has the ability to use the pound and star features of its push buttons rival. It is well built with today’s circuits, but has the feel of its beloved ancestor. Got a real bell inside that is loud when it is ringing. Since I don’t have Ma Bell for service, I use a X-Link gateway that uses the Bluetooth of my cellular phone for its dial tone, and supplies plenty of electricity to power it. I got this model because it said you can turn off the ringer which is what I need. When I first turned the phone over to attach the wires I heard something rattling inside. I couldn't get a dial tone or answer the phone although it rang because the handset cradle buttons didn't raise up when the handset was lifted. My husband took the bottom off and found a spring was rattling around inside. I don't know if the arm the spring attached to is broken but he couldn't get the spring to stay on so he attached it to a screw nearby and then attached it to the moving arm and the phone works fine now. It sounds good, but I find the handset to be loud. The ringer is a lightweight bell sound not as deep as old phones. It's a fun retro looking phone overall.

I love it! It look like the real deal if you do not pick it up .. if not you can tell it does not weigh like the vintage ones .. the dial works .. the ring tone is like back in the old days

Great Quality Rotary dial Phone, reminds me of my childhood. Works Great and ringer sounds nice. Thanks to a reviewer I was able to figure out how the center plastic disk removes to add in my own phone number. No damage whatsoever in removing it. Now it actually does look authentic with my own phone number inserted under the disk. Absolutely love it! Have gotten so many compliments. Can't wait to see how the grand-kids react when I have them call their Mom. Lol

I love this phone! It’s got the nostalgic ring to it, and I can hear the person on the other end crystal clear. It was fun to teach my kids to dial it. They love making calls on it!

Absolutely waste of time, money, and energy. I ordered three phone from this company, and was super disappointed the whole time. The first phone was a different style that looked older, and felt super cheap and light. The other two was this model. Both of which the volume on the phone was super low where anybody I was talking to would have to speaker loud just so I could hear them. That part was manageable, but after a few calls, the phone would no longer let me dial out and stopped working. I love the idea and concept, but this would be much better as a possible decoration then a legit phone product
