Amazing guitar case!
I love this guitar case! It's a little heavier than my old Groove Pak, which I've been toting around for 20 years, but it's much more protective and has all the great storage of that old case, with extra bells and whistles. This is a soft shell case, so it does not have the built-in styrofoam shell of the Transit series, but Gator's ads show it being tossed and kicked around, so they clearly feel secure in the cushioning that the case provides, and it's easy to see why. The sides are all rigid, and the inside has cushioning on all sides, with three extra additional movable pieces to create a super secure fit. If you love to be super organized, there are separate pockets for everything -- a nice-sized one on top that I use for picks, batteries, Snarks, capos; a big one on the bottom that I use for mics, a pedal, cables (also has a separate cushioned pocket for an iPad), one on the outside of that that I use for strings and string-changing accessories, and a small flat one up top that's good for cards, mic condoms, etc. On the pack, there is also a little pocket for the raincover that comes with the case. Honestly, I thought I'd never use that thing, but it's great! It slides on easily and has elastic edges to make it self-securing. This is a great case. I had to leave it out for the first few days I had it just to admire it. For years I considered the Mono, but the price tag was prohibitive on that one, and the fit was really tight. I just could never rationalize spending that much money on what to me was an imperfect case. This one is pricey but $50 less than the Mono and really worth it, imo.

I have never yet been disappointed with a product from Gator
I have several Gator products including amp cases and various guitar cases. I have never yet been disappointed with a product from Gator. They always make top quality gear. This bag is a great addition to their line. I also own a top of the line Reunion Blues RBG1 guitar case/bag. Comparing the two bags, I would say the Gator G-PG is very close to the Reunion Blues in quality and overall protection. One thing I like about both of these cases is the fact that they open up completely, like a hard case, as opposed to the way some gig bags only open enough to slide the guitar in (while trying not to scratch it against the zipper). I like a case that you can open and check out the guitar before lifting it out. The Gator bag also has some features not found on the Reunion Blues bag like a removable body insert (to accommodate longer guitars) and a front handle (which I find very handy on any gig bag type case) and lastly a rain cover, which is conveniently tucked away in its own little pocket.. I doubt that I will use the rain cover, but I can see where it would be handy to have for some musicians who are outside a lot. Another comparison is that the shoulder straps on the Reunion Blues case tuck-away in pockets so they are not always dangling off the case. The Gator's straps do not have that tuck-away feature, but they are easily removable, so it's not too much of an issue for me. The only possible con with the Gator bag is the white interior. The fabric is extremely soft and plush, so that's cool, but I am concerned that the white fabric will quickly show soil and stains. Aside from that one issue, the Gator G-PG is well worth the price and definitely a case that I will keep and use for a very long time. I can't say the Gator bag is superior to the Reunion Blues, or vice versa. In my opinion, they are equal, but different, if that makes any sense. The Reunion Blues case might have a slight edge as far as overall protection, but the Gator case is still plenty strong and has the extra features that I mentioned earlier. Which one to buy is really going to be a matter of personal taste. Regardless, you can't go wrong with the Gator Case and since this review is supposed to be about the Gator case, I will sum up by saying it is an excellent product and a great value for the price. Any guitar player would be happy with this case.

Now that it's been on a few gigs, I have some thoughts.
Overall, this is a great case. I usually haul a normal bass and a weird bass to every gig, like a P Bass and a Fretless or a Jazz Bass and a Bass VI. It's so much easier to haul two instruments in this case. It's sturdy enough to offer substantial protection to the instruments, but not overbuilt to the point where it's adding more unnecessary weight. Hauling two basses on your back is heavy enough, and Gator built a case that is light and protective. The pockets are big enough to carry sheet music, but I don't put anything else in this bag because I'm over 40 and two basses weigh enough, so all my other stuff comes in to the venue in another bag. All in all, this is a great product. I will update after a year or two of use.

The BEST gig bag!
Bought the same case a few years ago for my Godin LG. I needed a sturdy gig bag which would do well on an international flight. Fit in every overhead bin without a problem, even in the smaller planes. Now I’m planning to bring my PRS overseas and I didn’t think twice about which case to get. The metal clips are KEY, they don’t break like the plastic clips on other bags. Zippers are heavy duty and the fabric is super sturdy. Love the waterproof cover which comes included. Have used it many times in pop up storms when I’m out with my guitar. Highly recommend this bag.

Well built and much to like
This is an interesting new design from Gator with different models available for acoustic and electric guitars. I bought the electric model, Gator G-PG Electric Pro Go Series Gig Bag. The design elements, materials and construction are high quality. The tough outer fabric of the case has one large cargo pocket with an integrated iPad compartment, sewn-in Velcro cable loops, and various interior pouches for a few pedals or other items, plus room for a good sized binder holding your sheet music in the main compartment. There are also several smaller pockets in different places around the exterior of the bag, each secured by a good zipper. There were a couple of design points that interested me when I first learned about this gig bag: the full weather cover that stows in its own pocket, and the removable backpack straps that can be attached to different points to allow for a more flexible fit. Now that I've used the bag several times to transport my instrument, I can see that these features are designed and built well. The zippers are all quality. The backpack straps feel like they will stand up well to regular use without the padding breaking down. Since I use the backpack straps almost every time I use the case, I need them to last. The foam that provides impact protection for your instrument is fairly dense. It is thick enough to stand up to the bumps and scuffs that any gig bag is subjected to in the world of rehearsing and performing musicians. This bag isn't marketed as something to transport your guitar as checked airline baggage, and you would want something more solid for that job. As effective as this gig bag is for most of my needs, I would have more confidence in it if it were made with high density rigid foam instead of the soft foam they chose. I use a rigid foam gig bag (Wolfpack) to transport my acoustic, and the rigid foam makes me more confident about more serious mishaps, such as slipping on the ice while carrying my instrument, or some drunk fan in a crowded bar stepping on it because he was too out of it to see that a gig bag had fallen over. A couple other improvements I'd suggest would be: - a little more gusseting on the main pocket to allow for carrying more cargo without having to stress the zipper. - the addition of reflective piping or panels to make this black bag more visible at night when I'm crossing the street with it. I think the price is a little high, but the features it has are very good. Overall, I give it a solid 4 stars. With some additional main pocket capacity, rigid foam, and some reflective surfaces, it would be an easy five star rating to make.

Best case I have owned by far ( besides a hardshell fitted case for my Fender Jazz). Although I was first weary of the bags dimensions, when it arrived I was presently surprised that it was slightly larger than I thought, which is great because I use it for my ESP LTD B-206, which is a huge six string 13 pound bass. Very happy with construction, not your idea of a flimsy gig bag as it is very sturdy and offers plenty of internal padding and external protection. The bass fits perfectly into the case minus the narrow neck contour on the rest as it looks like it is geared more towards four and smaller five string basses. However this has not affected the performance of the bag and surprisingly does not take my bass out of tune as much as I originally thought it would as it isn't a hard shell case. Plenty of Storage is a huge bonus and if that isn't enough, the thing comes with a darn rain coat in the back head stock pocket. Overall if you want a rock solid gig bag, this is the one for you.

Excellent gid bag for bass
I cannot say much about durability yet, but this is the only decent gig back I found where the pocket is big enough for a Rumble 800 head. The design is far superior to the Mono M80. The only advantage the Mono might have is protection at the bottom. It is nice but does not outweigh the advantages of the Gator.

It's a beast!
This is a great bag. I teach music and need a way to carry everything with me. This holds my concert size acoustics perfectly. It also holds cables, books, and all the accessories you can think of. Once loaded up.. it's heavy.. and bigger than you might think. It's by no means a compact bag. This is a full size bag.
