Get your serious hot chocolate addition primed!
I just received this hot chocolate mix and not only is this dark chocolate mix is great, but it's also the cheapest bulk hot chocolate mix I found both on Amazon and in the normal grocery stores. Much cheaper per ounce than the traditional single cup poaches in a box. This mix is designed for the classic restaurant (ski resorts!) whipped hot chocolate machines, but it works great a single cup at a time. Suggested adds to reach HC nirvana: 1. Dark Dutch Process cocoa (just a little to really get your dark HC vibe on). 2. Vanilla Extract (again, just a touch). 3. A can (or two!) of whipped cream (I don't think this needs explanation). 4. Sealed lid canister similar to type used with ground coffee (see Veken, very nice). The mix comes in a bulk plastic bag which cannot be resealed; best to keep it in a canister to keep fresh and avoid a mess. Plus a very handy temptation on your counter! 5. 2 Tablespoon or 1/4 cup scoop. Single cup recipe recommends 5 Tablespoons per 12 ounces of hot water. I back this off just a bit, especially if I add Dutch process cocoa. 6. Large napkin to wipe that enormous smile off your face....and the whipped cream off your nose. Discount on Subscribe and Save (just swoosh it). Yes, you now have another new addiction to deal with. Enjoy!

Delicious
Delicious. No need for sugar and a spot of milk or cream finishes it to perfection. Super for these ever so cold days and nights.

Not dark chocolate that I can tell
Doesn’t taste like dark chocolate to me. It tastes like Nestles Quick. It’s good it’s just not what I was expecting. It tastes great made with water. I haven’t tried it with milk.

GLORIOUS HEAVENLY HOT CHOCOLATE!!!
Ok so I misunderstood what this was when I first ordered it.. I thought I was getting 1.75lbs worth of individual packages of some special indulgent “whipped cocoa” variety of Nestles stand alone “Rich Chocolate” flavor, but when I got it I was surprised to see it was just one giant bag of cocoa mix lol. And not just that but apparently this kind of hot chocolate is actually supposed to be meant for a “Whipped Cocoa Maker”, whatever the heck that was... So I did some digging and found out those are basically those big hot drink makers you see at 7-11’s or in big corporate office settings, and you’re supposed to pour this entire big bag into a hopper of one of those and it adds water to it on an individual basis when someone holds down the button to make some. In fact, nowhere on it did it even say you COULD make it with milk (like any good cocoa is SUPPOSED to have!), and only specified ways to mix it with water, so I was hesitant.. I had already opened the bag and thought I’d completely messed up by ordering this. What an idiot! Eventually my hesitancy and self loathing gave way and I thought “what the heck, lemme just TRY it!”. Now I was initially scared making it bc I know sometimes this kind of stuff doesn’t even mix with milk if it’s supposed to be made for water (found that out the hard way with Coffee Mate dry creamer once when I was a little short on milk..), so I proceeded to try it in a small cup. And to my astonishment it actually mixed WAYYYY BETTER than regular Nestles or Swiss Miss cocoa powder!!! Like seriously just one good maybe 10 second stir, just to get all the mix submerged and BAM, it’s COMPLETELY mixed in! (Unlike others that leave big clumps that you’ve gotta stir for your life to dissolve.) So all that is well and good but there’s still the most important part - how does it taste? As I picked up my little cup, a wave of anxiety washed over me. I proceeded to take a baby sip of it and lo and behold it was DELICIOUS!!! Absolutely amazing! Hands down one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever tried!!! I was ecstatic, and not just over how good it was but also bc my bumbling mistake had turned into a triumph and I now discovered I could just buy a hulking bag of the stuff for pretty cheap! So I’m incredibly happy with my purchase and I’m sure I’ll be back for more! If you’re on the fence about getting this, DO IT!! You won’t be sorry!!!

Not very Dark chocolate tasting...
Don't get this expecting an actual Dark Chocolate taste. It tastes more like regular milk chocolate cocoa. I bought this hoping I wouldn't have to buy multiple packets of dark chocolate mix for the snow season ahead, but looks like my search continues.

Nestle Hot Chocolate Mix, Dark Chocolate Flavor Hot Cocoa, Bulk Whipped Cocoa
have tried many hot chocolate mixes and none seem to measure up until I became aware of this product. I believe meant to be used in a restaurant type machine - but there are individual cup instructions too. Follow the instructions carefully, and especially make sure your water is really hot before adding the powder. stir stir. The hot water helps all the product dissolve unlike other I have tried. recommend.
