You can inflate it with just a hand pump, but it will take a while. A small electric blower will be much quicker - there are quite a few on Amazon at about $15. Don't use a compressor, you risk bursting it.

Unfortunately the 16 year olds at the party popped it so never need to deflate

Q: Is it sturdy enough to use to play ring toss?

It's quite lightweight so it will be easy to knock over if a ring hits it. I suggest you tie it down, then it should be OK.

Q: Why only for children? Are adult imaginations forbidden?

She’s definitely for everyone but she broke in like 3 days in the kiddie pool.

It came with punctures and holes in the seems

I bought it to decorate my daughters birthday and unfortunately by the time I filled it up for the party and found all the holes along the seem I could no longer return it.It was a key part of the decoration and unfortunately we could not use it.
