Attwood Kayak Paddle, Asymmetrical, 2-Piece, Heavy-Duty Aluminum with Comfort Grips, 7 Feet

I bought 3 kayaks before shipping out to Hawaii but I decided to wait on buying paddles. Turns out that I am able to kayak across Pearl Harbor to work 5 days a week so my paddles get lots of use (twice a day anyway). First I spent too much money on some other carbon fiber paddle that is very nice; however, it does tend to drip off of the end that is up in the air. I use my kayak to go to work so I don't really want salt water all over my lunch tote, shirt and shorts (yea...I work in shorts here ha!). So I decided to buy 2 of these cheaper looking attwood paddles for the 2nd and 3rd yaks in case company wanted to use them. Today I finally tried one our crossing the harbor and WOW! I wish I would not have wasted my money on that expensive paddle. These feel just as light as the expensive one or at least close to it and at 6'1" I felt that it was a very good length for me. I think this would work down to a person 5' tall or up to 6'5" if I had to guess. One side benefit is that it was a very dry running paddle. No dripping at the top of the stroke. I felt that it gave me a real decent and strong stroke as well. I might even say better than the expensive one I bought. I ended up leaving this one where I keep my kayak on the West side of Pearl Harbor without any fear of someone stealing it because it is pretty cheap and easy to replace. I highly recommend this paddle.

I bought two of these paddles. We take "float" trips which consists of recreational paddling with the kids, either on a calm river or on the backwaters of the lake. These paddles are sturdier than I was expecting. They seem to be of a good quality for a paddle that will only be used a couple of times a month in the summer. The kids use them, and there have been no complaints so far. The two halves of the paddle fit together quite well and there is very little, if any, wiggle from end to end. These definitely are not professional paddles, but for this weekend warrior I am completely satisfied. If they do ever need replacing, I will purchase the same ones again. Good Job Attwood for providing the average person a reasonably priced product that is well built!!!

Great and inexpensive item. I really think people try to hype up the expensive paddles for no reason...it pushes water...like it's supposed to. There are ones out there for outrageous prices when you could just get this. This is the average person paddle. Paint on handle scratches up quickly and water catchers slide a lot but I've used this a ton since purchasing and none of those negatives impact it's use.

I love this paddle. I've had a chance to use a few others since I got it and I always find myself thinking "I miss my paddle". It's lightweight and easy to use. I highly recommend this product.

I've had 3 of these paddles (for myself and family) since December 2020, and we have used them in and around cape canaveral national seashore. In calm water on the indian river lagoon and area lakes, and in rougher water on the banana and indian rivers. In calm conditions and windy conditions, they have worked great, and feel sturdy. They don't feel like a 2 piece paddle There is no give. I have not tried it in the Atlantic yet, but when I do I'll post an addendum to this review. I have no point of reference to compare this with more expensive paddles, since this is the only paddle we've had, but it has worked well and we're happy with it.

The product came in very timely and exactly as advertised. It’s the perfect paddle for a kayak especially if you have a car because it can be broken in half and put back together. This in no way causes it to be less sturdy. I’ve used it several times and then several cases broken it apart to use it as an individual paddle for a Canoe. While I would not recommend using the paddle for a canoe it certainly gets the job done. Overall great product I will be purchasing another one because of the good price.

We bought two because it's absolutely perfect. I liked that it had the soft foam on it for my hands I didn't get blisters so it's very comfortable. It looks fine I didn't see any scratches on it or anything like that so it did come new and it's holding up well. I'm an adult and I'm using it so the size is good for me. It is very easy to adjust you just push the little locking button kind of like on the umbrellas. And then very easy to take apart and stick into the canoe for storing.

I love this paddle for many reasons. It's so lightweight, comes in two pieces with three adjustment options to suit your paddling style. When getting into tight spots like low hanging mangrove tunnels, I can easily pull it apart and just use one half of the paddle and stow the other until I get out into more open water. It makes your paddling experience much more enjoyable in that regard. It has a nice clip that holds both pieces together so you can save a lot of space in the car as well. I'll buy another one of these!
