Life saver for my hubby
My local Gastrointestinal Surgeon recommends this product be in every diet as the psyllium cleans the colon and helps prevent colon cancer. After a horrible accident, my husband gut has not worked the same. This periodic has helped greatly to regulate his issues with bowls moving to much or not enough. Great product. Start slow with lowest dose first to let your body become used to the fiber or you may have bloating and flatulence

Just what I was looking for and for a great value too, can't go wrong here.
Being on a lot of medications because of my health issues, some; especially what I use for my pain issues and that are known to slow or retard your system, I really needed to look for something that will help me stay somewhat regular. Also because I have another health issues that I am not supposed to ever strain to go to the bathroom because that can cause this health issue to progress it is important for me to make sure I stay as regular as possible so I don't have to strain and put more pressure on my spine and make the cyst I have in my spine progress and further cause more issues. Also the fact that I have IBS and GP this all plays in the part of needing the stool softners; well these do a GREAT job and better priced here than they are off line at your local pharmacy and believe me, I have compared prices as much as I possibly could because I live on a fixed income. You can't go wrong with this product and will surely help keep you regular.

A good way to add fiber to your diet
Amazon is the only place where I can find these fiber supplements in capsule form. A good way to add fiber to your diet. Walmart has this product in gummy form but I can’t stand the taste of them and Walmart’s product is the same thing except it’s in capsule form, and I believe costs a little less than the Walmart gummies.

Convinient traveling and such, but the cost is unjustified!
So as the year go by for me I find that I get "backed up" a lot easier when eating cheese so I started taking fiber and it solved that problem. I took these pills for years and still do occasionally for convenience because the idea of mixing powder and drinking it always seemed gross to me for some reason. But the price has gotten so high for Metamucil pills now that I tried to powder mix and it's not bad at all and much cheaper for much more fiber. The only advantage of the pills is that they are easy to take; no mixing, no cup and stirrer required, just pop them in your mouth and drink some water. So I still keep a bottle around for traveling or other situations when it's not feasible to mix the powder with water. What kills me about this product is the price! It's highway robbery, and for what?! It's fiber in a pill! That can't cost that much to make. We know for a fact that the fiber itself is cheap because the price of a big jug of Metamucil fiber is cheap, so we're paying through the nose to have them put it in a pill?! That process is probably all automated so it can't cost that much. So where does the price come from?! I don't get it!

Life Changing
I started taking metamucil as a supplement to my diet. My doctor recommended it years ago to help me with IBS, but I didn't stick with it. Now as I've gotten older I've gone back to it and honestly it's a game changer for me. I use to spend a lot of time in the bathroom and most of that time was spent with clean up. Since I've been taking this regularly the consistency has improved as well as clean up time. Reading the label it says you can take up to 6 capsules 3 times a day, but I only take 3-5 based on how everything was moving the night before. I can't imagine anyone actually needing to take 18 pills a day. I opted for the capsule form as opposed to the powdered version because it's easier to take with you, and you're not needing to mix it with anything. I also find the taste of the powdered stuff to be terrible.

marked improvement and cleaner toilet time
Since taking these I have noticed a much better experience with bowel movements. Everything comes out nice and clean now. That has been a great side affect of the product. I use about 1/3 of the toilet paper I used before. I take 3 pills 2x a day. This is great to boost your fiber intake which is of course good for a number of reasons. The Psyllium should also reduce cholesterol. As others have mentioned there are some dyes and other uneeded additives in this product. If that is a concern for you then try this instead: [...] For those complaining of gas, your a ramping up too quickly. Start with one pill a day if your body is not used to processing fiber. Also try adding pepper to your diet.
