I bought this as a gift for a family member. It is of high-quality bamboo and the paper is a tan color so it looks wonderful. It comes with a bamboo ballpoint pen. But I bought a bamboo fountain pen to go with it so I will be changing out the pen.I will be keeping the pen for myself it is a nice pen. Well if this isn't the cutest LITTLE journal ever? And I emphasize LITTLE. I must not have read the description well, because I most certainly expected it to be bigger. However, it is adorable in it's miniature size. The pages are not white, another thing I didn't expect. They're sort tannish bamboo color. I guess to match the cover and pen. I really would have preferred them to be white, but the adorableness of the actual journal and matching pen makes up for the tan-beige pages. This is perfect for writing lists, keeping in the purse or desk drawer to jot down notes and other writing needs that don't require you to have too much space to write them. If you use it as a diary type journal, you'd better either lead a very boring life or plan to purchase another one, because I doubt you could squeeze in much more than "survived today, it was good, went to park" as entries for 365 days. Although I received mine at a discount in exchange for a fair and honest review I would have no issue with buying another one aft full price. In fact I'm considering giving them as gifts (along with gel pens) since it is so cute. I guess it is the bamboo-wood cover that makes it so cute.

I love this product. I haven't found notebook with this styling and function until now. I'm not a big fan of the pen simply because I'm a Zebra guy. not a knock on quality however.
