SwissMicros DM15L RPN Calculator – HP 15C Inspired |Titanium Shell | Complex Numbers & Matrix | USB | Root-Solver

Excellent re-make of the HP workhorse! I have been searching for years for an HP-15c calculator. All I could ever find for decent prices were used HP-11s units, which, while nice, are financial in nature and not really useful for my own engineering work. I love the landscape layout and RPN entry system. Once you learn and become used to this layout and entry method, "regular" calculators seem painfully clunky. SwissMicros makes these "clones", using the original HP microcode. This means they give the same results, and have generally the same 'quirks' that the original HP models exhibited. But with larger memory storage, 4x the speed, sturdy metal cases and wonderful clicky keys. They're firmware upgradable, include a real-time clock, user selectable operating speed (12Mhz or 48Mhz), three display fonts for your viewing pleasure and long battery life off a single CR2032 coin cell. Perhaps not the decades we got from the LR44/357's in the original HP models, but certainly many months or years depending on your usage patterns. Easy to replace when needed with four screws. Nice heft to the unit, feels very nice in your hands. The keys are clicky, giving very good tactile feedback on button presses, with a solid feel to the whole thing overall. Am I pleased with my purchase? YES, very pleased. Would I purchase again? OH YES! I actually have this unit on my desk, and a smaller version (the DM-15 credit-card sized) in my purse. Don't leave home without one!

I like the DM15L as much as my HP11C. Faster and 40 years newer. Swiss Micros is about the only game in town for new RPN calculators. I collect them, I use them. I use the DM15L in my living room with the big TV while surfing the web. Handy for those quick calculations that don't require any programming. I always liked the Voyager (Landscape design). Screen is very readable. Buttons are fine. I also bought the DM15 credit card sized version which is a great novelty, but the buttons are too stiff to use as a daily driver. Cheerleading for Swiss Micros below: My HP41CV has broken posts, bad z-strips, and battery terminals. With manipulation, I can sometimes even get it to power on. My HP41CX is still in great condition except for the battery terminals. It faithfully powers on, but I know it will probably quit before I do. I got the DM41X masterpiece to replace those two. The DM41X improves on the HP41CX with many conveniences like the custom menu and USB interface that simply make the DM41X my daily driver on my desk. The custom menu supplants the plastic overlays from the 41's that let us repurpose seldom-used keys. The DM41X claims to support overlays, but didn't come with any, and my attempts to use a Cricut to create overlays for the DM41X have been promising, but ultimately disappointing largely due to the thin, flimsy overlay requirements. The old 41 overlays were at least three times thicker than what can be used on the DM41X/DM42. I have the HP 49 and the HP Prime (which will likely be my last HP), but my glory days were with the 11 and the 41 series. Swiss Micros understands that bond and has excelled in feeding my passion for these classic calculators.

I purchased the Swissmicro DM15L, and the calculator was great at first, a good equivalent to the HP 15C. I have an HP that is over 20 years old and works with no problems. The DM15L display is going out; there are several dead pixels spot; at first, no big deal, now it is interfering with the actual number display. Since it is still under warranty, I reached out to Swissmicro support with no response; I emailed them again a month later and included several other Swissmicro employees, and still no response. Now the calculator is useless! I have given the rating purely based on customer service or their lack of customer support and would not recommend their product due to lack of customer support.

I like everything about this calculator except for the feel of the keys. I've been using the original HP15C since 1985 and also bought the limited edition version. I wanted another one to keep at work so I bought this one. The keys on the HP version have a great feel and doesn't need much press force. This calculator needs more force to push the keys which gives it a clunky feel and it takes some time getting use to. Also I found that if you press the keys too fast, the numbers won't register which leads to mistakes in my calculations. I have to slow down and recheck everything I do. I'm at least glad that somebody reproduced this model.

Nach fast 25 Jahre habe ich entschieden iergendwie mich wieder mit Mathematik zu beschäftigen. Ich hatte damals ein HP12C (der heute noch erhältlich ist), ein HP42s, 1993 gekauft (super Taschenrechner, aber einige Tasten haben den Geist aufgegeben). Ich besitze heute noch ein HP35s (den es noch gibt), ein HP12C Platinum und ein HP50g. Ich wollte aber unbedingt den HP15C. Die limitierte HP-Edition von 2011 ist noch gebraucht im Internet (amazon) erhältlich, aber viel zu teuer. Und ich will keine € 400.- ausgeben für gebrauchte Ware. Ich bin schon vor Jahren auf Swissmicros aufmerksam geworden. Die Idee, eingestellte HP-Modelle von HP wieder auf den Markt zu bringen, ist einfach eine tolle Idee und ich kann das nur begrüssen. Ich hoffe auch dass viele HP-Liebhaber dass auch so sehen werden und DM-Taschenrechner von Swissmicros kaufen werden um somit dieser Geschäftsmodell zu unterstützen. Hoffentlich werden auch zukünftige Uni-Studenten darauf aufmerksam. UPN (RPN) ist einfach einzigartig. Eine andere Rechen-Methode als UPN habe ich seit meinem 15. Lebensalter nicht mehr benutzt. Ich habe ein DM42 von Swissmicros (was eigentlich dem HP42s entspricht, aber besser und weiterentwickelt). Kann es nur empfehlen! Toll, super Haptik, gut verarbeitet. Einige Features sind sehr gut durchdacht. Aber so viele Programme schreibe ich trotzdem nicht. Ich wollte die Idee aber von Swissmicros unterstützen, und habe ein DM42 gekauft. Ich nutze es, aber eher zu Hause und selten. Die Preise dieser DM-Taschenrechner scheinen mir aber für wissenschaftliche Taschenrechner völlig in Ordnung zu sein (ab € 100.-). Ich wollte unbedingt ein Voyager-Format. Und der HP15C ist einfach ein toller Rechner. Jetzt bin ich stolzer Besitzer von einem DM15L. Dieser Rechner ist wirklich eine Kopie des HP15C, aber schneller. Man kann zwischen 12Mhz und 48 Mhz-CPU-Speed wählen. Es ist mir noch unklar wieviele Programmier-Schritte auf den DM15L zur Verfügung stehen. Laut Firmware-Version 29 (Stand Juni 2019) vermutlich 999. Das reicht mir völlig. Es ist mir aber noch unklar dass es eine Version mit mehr Speicherplatz gibt, und eine Version mit (noch) mehr Speicherplatz (extented Memory oder even more Memory). Ich nehme an dass ich die eine oder andere Firmware-Version auf meinem Rechner installieren kann. Aber wieso würde ich mich dann für eine Version entscheiden dessen Speicherplatz geringer ist… Verstehe ich nicht. Die Update-Firmware finde ich ein bisschen schwierig und umständlich. Liegt aber nur an mir. Die Haptik ist wirklich hervorragend. Die Farbe gefällt mir richtig. Alle Programme (orginales HP15C Handbuch den man im Internet noch findet) funktionieren einwandfrei auf den DM15L. Für mein Mathe-Studium ist dieser Rechner einfach toll. Ich überlege mir noch zwei weitere Modelle (! ja zwei) anzuschaffen (im Fall der Fälle...). Das Abspeichern von Programme auf den PC, ist ein toller Feature, für mich aber keine Notwendigkeit. Mir ging's hauptsächlich ein HP15C wieder in die Hand zu halten, und ich freue mich jedes Mal wann ich es benutze kann. Klare Kaufempfehlung mit 5-Sternen !!

梱包はレビューでの噂通り簡易で緩衝材など一切なかったが、自分の場合は故障や液晶のトラブルもなく難なく使用することができた。ボタンの押し具合などとても心地いい。文字が象嵌ではないが、よく使用するキーが消えていくのも悪くないと思う。カバーも人口皮革と思われるが、カバーが付くことで一層この機器に愛着がわいた。誕生日か何か仕事で上手くいったときに、小型機のDM15もほしくなった。 It is reported that Swiss micros' packing is really simple. Actually, there is no cushioning material, but my Dm 15L arrives without any trouble. I like its click feeling and the cover is cool enough to increase my attachment to this calculator. I want to buy Dm15 in my next birthday.

Génial cette machine, belle, robuste, puissante, vaut largement le détour. J'achèterai la DM42 dès qu'elle sera disponible elle est à couper le souffle , j'ai vu les vidéos, Une affaire à ne pas manquer.
