All the love-hate relationship you'd expect!
This bike is built for one demographic -- those who want the hardcore, no-frills, hard-to-kill spirit of your local Crossfit box...except at home. Somewhat frustratingly, those looking to 'put it away after each use' or struggling to get started aren't who this bike is made for. I would recommend a bike that's engaging, with videos and training programs, and things that make you forget you're working out. This bike has one purpose and one purpose alone -- work hard, train hard. It's a no-frills, smoke-you, put-in-the-work bike like you'd find in a Crossfit gym. This is a bike designed for those who might not be able to make it to their local box every day but don't want to stop training. They want to replicate that experience at home so they don't have an excuse. If this is you, then this is your bike. If it's not, I'd recommend one that's a lot cheaper -- they will all hold unfolded laundry the same.First, as exercise equipment -- If you're familiar with this type of bike from Crossfit, then you're familiar with the hurts-so-good pain and suffering this machine can bring. It can be used for a full-body workout in many different types of ways -- arms, legs, full-body. It's just a matter of how hard you push, pull, and work. It's on point with the machines you find in a commercial box and just as engaging and difficult as a 'regular' box. That said, it has the heft to prove it.This bike is a beast, weighing in at almost 150 lbs. They aren't joking when they said 'commercial grade' and this is a bike really designed for those with a current (or aspiring) home box setup. As others have mentioned, it does require some maintenance but I don't hold that against this at all. Indeed, it's a benefit. If the Army taught me anything, it's that good equipment requires upkeep. The only way you get away from maintenance is to engineer in 'slop' and slop is what causes things to wear, break, and need a replacement prematurely. This bike has no time or tolerance for such shenanigans. While this one does have the enhanced electronics, it's still the straightforward computer setup you'd expect out of a Crossfit gym -- akin to a Crossfit bike or Concept2 rower. It's not the fanciest, but -- chances are -- those looking at this bike aren't in it for the gadgets. It works, it gives readouts, it pairs with your heart rate monitor. It's solid and I don't think it'll break soon.In all, this is a legitimate commercial-grade bike that'll give you everything you'd expect from your local box. It's as hard-working as you, it has no tolerance for BS, and it won't sell itself out for frills over function. It's absolutely worth the price and might just outlast you.I received this through the Amazon Vine program. If you have found it helpful, please let me know by voting!
