I Do Like These Little Fishies!
I love the smoky flavor of these little fishies. I do, however, have to pinch the tails off. Not a fan of fins in the mouth. The smokiness can get a little much if you are really eating a bunch of these but what is especially great is that they pair well with less tasty sardine brands which serves to both mute the smokiness and elevate the tastiness of any yuckier cans of fish you have. In my search for a great can of sardines, I admit to buying several somewhat icky brands but these smoked Polar ones really go the distance! Buy with confidence!

I am buying again
The packaging is good. The cans easy to open. The sardines are tasty and don't linger on your breath.

This product presentation leaves a lot to be desired
The reviews under this food product seem mixed? So my review is of "MW Polar Fried Brisling Sardines In Tomato Sauce, 8.47 Oz" specifically! I opened the can, expecting to find some "Sardines" neatly laid out, covered in some sort of "tomato sauce". Needless to say I was utterly disappointed. What I found, instead of my "mental image".. was this "chunk mix".. I think? Honestly it was so bad when I opened the can, visually speaking I thought I'd bought catfood... As a matter of fact, I DID eat some of the product, and it was "Meh" on the taste... I end up giving the remainder to my cat, who did in fact seem to love the product. So I'll rate it 2 stars, my cat probably would have rated it 5 star?

A nutritional monstrosity?
These seem to come in three forms: a standard tin, a glass jar, and a tin sealed with a piece of clear plastic; I've had the two in tins but not the glass jar. All of these appear to have the same contents, but the ingredients list is slightly different across the three packagings. Two of them list 'refined olive oil', while another one just says 'olive oil'. 'Refinement' of oils generally means some pretty serious adulteration, and for the worse, so without more details on what they're up to here, I won't be buying any more of these, in any of its packages. More games: the standard tin also claims on the front that they are 'smoked', yet the ingredients include 'smoke flavor' - so they're not actually smoked per se - while the other two say 'Naturally smoked' on the front label but don't include 'smoke flavor' in the ingredients. I don't know what is up with the labeling shenanigans here, but I no longer trust Polar and will stick with Crown Prince for brisling sardines.
