After several attempts to find a 8in speaker that would work in a free-air marine environment cerwin-vega came through. The speaker is mounted in the forward compartment lid of a 2011 Kawasaki STX15F that is not a sealed enclosure, there is a 3/16 aluminum backing plate I made to support the weight and it is powered by a DS-18 X4B candy1600w 4ch amp off the 3-4 ch bridged. additional Boss MRTW40 wake tower speakers on ch 1&2 and a Rockville SS8P 400w powered subwoofer. I also added a gel cell battery tied in to provide system power, AudioPipe AP-BTM1200 Bluetooth, DS-18 BKVR remote on/of volume and system voltage switch located in the glove box with the Rockville sub power & level adjustment.
