this hose splitter is great! The splitter itself is very solid and it comes with extra rubber washers and a roll of plumbers' tape to use to help seal the thread and avoid future problems with hoses that can't be removed!

It’s working perfectly with no leaks! It came with a role of plumbers tape, which all but guaranteed that there are no leaks from the connections, but there is no sign of leakage from anywhere. It seems to be very well built of smooth brass. When the valve is closed, nothing comes out. Now that we have it set up, we don’t move it around. The valve is always facing up, so it’s very easy to use to shut off the water to either hose. I can set up a sprinkler, and ask my son to shut the sprinkler off in a few hours. All he has to do is go flip the leaver on that side of the shut off valve. I’m very happy with it!

Heavy Duty splitter but somewhat flimsy valves. Works perfectly either way so clearly not an issue.

My sprinkler system* consists of a hose and a good Melnor oscillating tower sprinkler head. I’ve gone thru SO many hose splitters in the last 20 years, many purchased on Amazon. I’ve learned abt hose ends that fuse, timers that become psychotic with fluctuating water pressure & how to stagger washers when splitters get wonky from reading reviews. Even with taking them off to winter indoors, almost no splitter, no matter how expensive or highly rated, has made it more than one season. The levers leak or break or both. The housings split, some won’t thread so the levers are facing up & outward, quite a few have had “minor” leak points that I accepted as best I could do. A few brands have quit mid summer. The plastic pieces become less well made with each passing year, some adverted as metal break simply by screwing them in. Quick connectors on them often leak like sieves. I’ve also received a few that had one side connect to the hose really well & the other not fit at all. If you’re still reading at this point in my rant, here’s why I’m writing this review: This brass splitter kit is AWESOME! To begin with, The tape & washers that came with it are of obviously higher quality than mostly every piece I’ve purchased in the last 10 yrs or so. The tape is thicker & the role is generous. It appears to be solid brass with no pot metal cheats. The threads are nicely finished with no sharp or jagged edges. All three join points screwed into their respective parts easily & securely. The on/off levers were a bit tight for my arthritic fingers but since the splitter attaches at a proper angle it’s workable. Hope I’m not jinxing it… not one leak, not even a drop. By the way, this little beauty is abt a third of the price of many of these finicky critters. I promptly bough another.
