Good first kit for kids!

Very easy to assemble and allows to set up all possible configurations. Of course all configurations means that you can short the battery, ending in a very hot battery in no time. Some kind of current limiting function would be nice to prevent the hot battery, but that would negate the benefit of using only basic, elementary components with no hidden tricks in them. Bottom line, you should guide the child until he understands fully what he is doing. After all, that is the goal of the game!!!

I ordered these through a Donors Choose program. When they arrived on time and neatly packaged, I was amazed. I was expecting a paper box with the items inside but each set is in a small plastic container that latches. Just right for storing in a compact size. They don't come with batteries (which you will need 2 AA to complete the activities) so I bought some and placed them in the container with the other parts. It holds them nicely. It so includes a booklet for instructions in each set. My plans are to order a classroom set for my next year class! Wish they had the batteries included but still very happy with this purchase.

My husband and I could not get this kit to work at all. We fiddled with it forever, read all the instructions, and couldn’t get a lightbulb to light up. It was a total dud. This was supposed to be for our home school unit study. We wasted our money.
