This shucking knife is pretty much as good as anything on the market...blade is 2.5 to 3 inch long, roughly 0.5 inch wide with curved and strong tip. The handle is pretty good but could be a bit longer and softer. I have used many different shucking knives and this one is a good default choice! As for the security glove..meh! not particularly comfortable...go and buy a comfortable and colourful "safety" leather palmed glove. Just a note...do a slight grind on the tip to roughen it and reduce slippage from the oyster hinge.

Listen. I love oysters. But every time I try to open one, it feels like I’m about to either lose a finger or unlock a tiny, salty treasure chest of disappointment. I’ve tried butter knives, screwdrivers, one time even a flathead drill bit (don’t ask). Nothing worked. Just pain, tears, and closed oysters. Then I bought these. These knives? Absolute game-changers. Thick handle. Solid blade. Pointy enough to say “I mean business” but not so sharp that you’re instantly headed to the ER if you slip. They gave me the confidence of a salty old sea captain and the precision of a sushi chef on a revenge arc. Now I pop those oysters open like I’m competing on Iron Chef: Unhinged Shellfish Edition. I stab, I twist, I conquer. The oysters don’t stand a chance. They used to mock me. Now they fear me. If you’ve ever stared down a bivalve like it owes you money, get these. Just remember: it’s not violence, it’s dinner.

I have never shucked an oyster, and wanted to try. I tested this out a couple of gulf coast oysters. There was a slight learning curve (not the utensil's fault), but it went well. The oyster knife is strong, and the curve on the end helps a lot. I'm glad they provided the gloves. The surface of the oyster is rough and would irritate your hands after a few openings. Now that I know the basics, I can get brave and order more oysters.

Fonctionne tres bien. Moins dangereux que les couteaux pointus.
