MikasaSwirl 4 Piece Place Setting, White

Love these for everyday. They are as presented in the description. I accidentally broke one of the mugs and ordered what I thought was the same mug. It was darker (my error not theirs as it did say tan instead of white) but the mug's shape on the bottom is shaped differently so if you have to reorder a piece of this set, make sure you are specific in the description. The mugs are a little large so when putting them in a dishwasher they may take up more room than some of their smaller counterparts. The plate is also very large. The other two pieces seem to be of a standard size. I do love the shape of the bowl. It is a little unique as it carries on the theme of swirl by the shape of the rim. I replaced my smaller square shaped set with these.

So i waited a couple weeks to review this set.I hand wash my dishes so they get a bit more clink and clank than the dishwasher gives. I was waiting to see how much they chipped after a couple weeks of banging around.Well I've bought a second set and plan to buy two more.I have a set of Mikasa Bone China and I like these so much more.They just feel more substantial.I also really like the swirl design and the shape of the cup has already gotten several compliments.they're not too fancy but nice enough to not look cheap.The price is a bit high for a casual use set but I still use them that way none the less. My 6 year old uses them, rinses them off and puts them in the sink on her own. No chips so far.They also have a very smooth finish so they clean off very easily. The inside almost feels non-stick which makes wiping them down a piece of cake.I have microwaved them without issue. They do get hot so be careful when pulling the plates out of the nuker but they are no worse for the wear.Since I don't use a dishwasher I can't comment on how they hold up there. But I'm moving soon and will have one in my new place so I'll update is they start crazing or breaking.I still haven't dropped one and I don't know that I want to test them that rigidly because even though this is a vine review and they were free for me, honestly I like them enough that I want to take care of them. (Sorry to the folks used to me abusing my Vine stuff.)OVERALLThey are nice looking, substantial but not heavy, durable and easy to care for.Do I recommend them? Like I said I've already bought a second set and plan to buy two more.So, yes, I recommend them.

You must be careful with Mikasa's china. White is not White, it is Bone. You can only get White in a full set, otherwise you get Bone colored when you buy 1 setting.Buyer beware - false advertising.

This is a VERY nice place setting. Elegant and solid. It's a creamy white, rather than a bright white, with a very elegant design. Not much more to say other than it looks lovely and it is solid dinnerware.

I love these dishes, I bought them for myself as a birthday present and have been great! I have used them at least once a week for the past 2 months. I put them in the dish washer and have not had a problem with them! They could be everyday ware, but look elegant as well for dinner parties.

I had to return this set because the mug was broken. It was not an issue with Amazon packaging but with Mikasa’s boxing. It just needed some cardboard or something around the mug. This made me unsure about ordering anymore. So I went to Macy’s website and ordered 3 boxes of the 20 pieces set of this same dish set (5 piece serving for 4 in each box). (Much better price and the small fruit bowl was included). Caution though- when I received them- the last bigger bowl in each of the three boxes was broken. Again, this is an issue with the way Mikasa packages their products!! They sent me three replacement boxes and again the last bowl in the three boxes was broken!! There were a few other broken dishes in these boxes as well. I made three good box sets and will return the other three. I was a little concerned about the quality of the dishes but I’ve been using them for three weeks and am very happy with them. They look great. The shape of the bowls took some getting used to but I like them now. They are also an off white, creamy color. I don’t know why Mikasa doesn’t list that for this product!!

I love the style of these dishes. They look beautiful. I've had them about 10 years now and they have not held up well. Many of the bowls have cracks on the inside. I'm not sure they are even safe to eat out of anymore. So many of the plates and bowls are chipped! The chipping is my primary complaint, but I also do not like the size of the plates. The large plate is so large I don't like to use it. But the small plate isn't quite big enough. The shape of the bowls are cool, but hard to load in a dishwasher. I think the only thing I haven't had an issue with is the mugs, but they also get used the least.

These are beautiful plates, love them! The quality is amazing!
