This is not a complicated item, though essential to flute maintenance. It is wood and that is what one ought to use swab out a flute. My 1927 flute, a good one, has a metal cleaning rod. Evidently, wood did not exist in those days. This cleaning rod is nothing fancy but good price and good quality. I'll buy another when this one wears out.

I'm not sure how this can be used to help clean the inside. It's way too thick to allow a cloth to properly clean. I'm disappointed.
