does the container have the dice combination totals on the outside? Example: 3 of a kind xxxx etc?

The canister shown did, but now they have a tube that the dice come in and I do not know. Get the score sheets, they have them.

Does one side of the die have a picture of an animal?

No, it comes with cheap plastic dice and I purchased better quality ones. Also the new edition comes in a plastic tube instead of the cup as shown.

dice, rolling cup, scoring sheets, rules.I highly recommend the Spicy Farkel game ove the Classic. It offers more fun and options. It's a family favorite. You don't need to puchase extra scoring sheets as they are nothing special, a scrap piece of paper works just fine

Are the dice normal size or a bit larger?

I'm not really sure on that one as I gave it away as a gift. But the older one I have is regular sized dice.
