We've had a Wii for a number of years. I still enjoy the bowling game and my wife uses it with the board for fitness training. However somehow (no-one admits to knowing anything about it) the component TV cable had broken completely at the point where it's plugged into the Wii. The broken bit had to be removed with a pair of pliers.So I was going to replace the component cable but saw this. I decided that since I seem to have acquired a lot of HDMI cables I might as well go for it. The adapter arrived quickly and simply plugs into the Wii socket where the component cable originally went. An HDMI cable connection to the TV is then set up and great, everything worked as it should. The only problem I might have is running out of HDMI sockets on the TV, but if necessary that would be fixed by buying a splitter. I note that this adapter also has a headphone socket but I haven't bothered with that.

really good clears the picture great some games are way more noticable than others some games have these weird scan lines but honestly get one if your getting back into wii gaming, i use it for playing mostly guitar hero works great with that.

My new TV lacks the composite inputs required to plug the nintendo wii in so i got this adapter to bridge the gap, allowing an hdmi input instead. I was not disappointed and it worked immediately out of the box. Beware this may not work with some HDMI splitters for complicated reasons but when the HDMI lead is plugged directly in to the TV it works flawlessly. To be clear this is for the adampter only, the HDMI lead itself is seperate and an item i had anyway

Within a year, the adapter I’d bought has failed. It worked fine until that point. Hopefully when i buy a replacement it’ll last a bit longer.Note for setting up: you have to scale down the resolution on your TV - you get a better picture quality selecting 480p than 720p.

I replaced my old tv and discovered that my new tv did not have the connection points to plug in my Wii, which I still love to play. This converter to HDMI has saved my gaming life and has brought my Wii back to life. Its a good quality item that is simple to use - plug n play and away you go. And great value for money. If you have an old Wii you want to dust off and get out the cupboard for endless hours of fun this is the converter you need.

Recently picked myself up a Wii that was originally bought when the Wii released, and this works brilliant. Was able to connect to my monitor with an HDMI no problem. Of course, the Wii is an old console so dont expect brilliant graphics these days, but this worked brilliant on my monitor that only has HDMI and Display ports.
