Q: I have a mettler scale sends weight to computer through usb or serial but usb broke. can i use this to connect serial on scale to usb on computer?

That depends on the serial port/connector itself. Serial ports are available in many configurations. Check to see if you can identify the port/connector by model.........if not, count the number of pins top and bottom then proceed accordingly by searching online for a compatible cable. The RS-232 standard was the most popular at one time. But then there's RS-422, RS 485 and Ethernet. Hope this helps.
