JapanBargain 2384 Melamine Soup Spoons, Set of 2, Red/Black Japanese Ramen Pho Wonton Style Utensils

These are great soup spoons. I bought them specifically for my fresh miso soup but they are perfect for virtually any soup. Normal soup spoons are hardly curved and I find that a lot of the broth spills out from the base as I lift the spoon out of the soup. What I really like about Chinese soup spoons is that are kind of like mini bowls that allow you to pick up the broth along with the other additions in your soup. These spoons feel really nice, not at all cheap or plastic-y feeling. They hold up well in the dishwasher as well and the coloring to them is very neat. The handle is a bit shorter than you would be used to if you predominately use American spoons but this is not at all a problem nor does it feel like it's an awkward length. I also noticed people asking if you could sip from the end/the handle. If you pick up the broth in the base of the spoon as if you were going to eat it and then tilt it back, you could sip through the end to test out the soup as the handle is bevelled a bit. The end is a bit closed off but doesn't really prohibit you from sipping. The only thing bad that I noticed was that there were visible scratches to the base of the spoon straight out of the plastic packaging. Hopefully this was just due to shipping. Not a big issue for me. All in all, for the price, this is an excellent buy and a great addition to any kitchen!

I love these soup spoons. The concept and design are the best soup spoons style to have. I do recommend this set and even though they are plastic, they are perfect. I wish I had more to say except that you will not be dissapionted and these are a great gift idea too.

The soup spoons are well made and sturdy. The size and weight are right too. I didn’t like the color so much.

We finally got the opportunity to use these and they were GREAT! was SO NICE to eat our pho with a spoon that could handle the entire dish. We've been using standard spoons to get a small amount of broth while using the chopsticks to try to get some rice noodles and steak then somehow managing to get it all in our mouths at the same time - much harder than it sounds. They have now been through the dishwasher twice without issues (no cracking, chipping fading, etc). They may be cheap but they were worth every penny! For cosmetic reasons the coloring in the picture is very accurate (obviously can change from computer to computer based on your color settings) but it's a deep red top of the handle and into the spoon and then black underneath and on the bottom of the handle. Another benefit is with them being plastic they don't transfer the heat from the broth through the spoon and up to your hand. They will stand on their own if you set them on a flat surface. ***UPDATE*** We've now used these another half a dozen times and they are still going extremely strong. The dishwasher has had caused no deterioration and they still look like I just pulled them from the packaging.

My husband and I love to make and eat soup during the winter, but hated how regular spoons didn’t hold much broth or other contents in them. It always felt like you had to sacrifice one for the other. We got these spoons to solve that problem, and they work wonders. Now we’re able to get the perfect amount of broth, veggies, and protein all in one good-sized spoonful. Cleaning is super easy and storage is no problem as they’re a good size. We’re overall very happy with our purchase!

I don't like that they're plastic. Otherwise they're perfect!
