So far as I can tell, this is legit wildcrafted (versus pool grown) sea moss. Characteristics of the real deal: thin filaments, firm to touch like dry ramen noodles, little to no salt on the surface. Meets all these criteria. Slight ocean smell, very faint. I just ripped off about 1 cup of dry stuff and soaked for 16 hrs. Enlarged in size. Made 3 pints of finished gel. Tastes a bit like the ocean, mostly neutral. I can see why people like to flavor it, but the natural taste is also tolerable. This bag will probably make me at least 14 pint jars in total. So I'm saving like $390 compared to if I bought those jars at a store at $30 a pop. Great deal to get this and make it at home. Simple. Just takes an overnight soak. I saw there's 32 TBSP in a pint, so one jar can last you a month (if you take 1 TBSP per day)! Suggested serving is 1-2TBSP per day. Supposed, the gel stays good in the fridge for 3-4 weeks, so I froze the other two jars. I'm gonna see how my body responds with this first jar.
