Great Basic Sound for an old Ford F Series
So I needed a pair of replacements for the "new to us" 1987 F150 XLT Lariat we have just gotten. After dropping in a head unit that I had lying around, it quickly became apparent that the original speakers were not only still in place but mostly dead. These were a perfectish fit, they are the right diameter, depth, and a close enough installed height to work. There is a set of holes that work but the rotation was a bit of a pain to find but I can only blame Ford for that randomness. So they work well. So sound quality? Let me tell you, I'm too old to have a golden ear anymore but I've got decades of experience with everything from cheap stuff to sound systems that literally cost more than most cars, from servo controlled large subwoofers to planar magnetic main drivers to Heil Air Motion tweeters and much more. I know good sound and I'm actually quite impressed with the SQ that these are capable of for the price. Are they as good as the Morels I have ready for my daily driver? No. Are they as good as the Dynaudio or Focal's or even Eclipse mains I've used in the past? No. Are they better than any "around $50 a pair" speakers I've ever owned or installed? Absolutely. They are clean, clear, and sound quite decent. I'm not feeding them with oodles of clean power, just running a head unit to them but they're good enough and that's a strong statement from an old audiophile. If you need "just something better than stock for a 1980's Ford with 6" drivers", these are a great solution. They're not going to blow away a solid component system but they're very much good enough for basic listening which is obviously their target market. If you're in the target area, don't hesitate.

NVX has made a component car speaker budget gem!
Looking to get that premium sound by installing a proper component speaker set in your ride? Don't have the money for an expensive component set? These are the perfect speakers for you. I've had my aftermarket system in my '05 Dodge Ram 1500 for awhile now. I used a factory amp bypass harness which gave me access to the wiring for the 4 door speakers, run to my 4 channel amplifier. I decided to originally go with a set of coaxial speakers for the front and rear doors, I started with crappy Boss 6x9 speakers, upgraded to a set of 6x9 Sony speakers, then eventually upgraded to a set of 6x9 Pioneer speakers in the front, and 6.5s from Pioneer in the rear. I was never happy with the sound, being tinny and ear piercing when the volume was turned up, I also missed the sound of having high range speakers in the dashboard like the factory 7 speaker Infinity system did. Having a Skar Audio SDR-12 on my backseat, the system had excellent low end, but my coaxial Pioneer speakers continued to disappoint me especially up front. After seeing a couple youtube channels I watch say good things about NVX, I decided to look into them and I found this component set. A proper 6.5 inch 2 way component set for 80 bucks? No way. After seeing an overwhelming amount of positive reviews I decided to order and install them, I used a 6x9 to 6.5/5.25 adapter from Scosche, and a 3.5 inch to tweeter adapter set from MJM speaker adapters. I used the existing speaker wires for the front doors for the mids, and I ran new wire to the dashboard for the tweeters, the crossovers were mounted by the amp. The way these speakers take power is unbelievable, you actually want to turn the volume up and you don't get punished with ear piercing treble for doing so, just smooth clean sound. The midrange and bass response are excellent for these speakers, the higher notes through the tweeters sound pleasant to the ear as well, especially being mounted in dashboard instead of low in the doors. If you want premium sound without emptying your entire life savings, I would recommend this set, they sound great off amplifier power but I'm sure they'd sound fine off your stock system or just power from an aftermarket radio. Great job NVX, you have gained me as a fan. I'm looking forward to trying out their 6.5 inch 2 way coaxial set in my rear doors, although the Pioneers currently installed do fine for rear fill. Some notes about this set and what you get in the box: In the box you will find the 2 6.5 inch midrange drivers, the 2 dome tweeters, 2 passive crossovers, two pods to mount the tweeters in if you're not surface mounting them, and the instruction manual. Everything is of good quality and well put together. The included crossovers do come apart revealing holes for mounting screws inside, as well as a -3 dB tweeter attenuation switch, a feature I was not expecting on a budget set. To surface mount the tweeters, place them in a mounting hole of your choice, and press on the included metal rings until the tweeters are held snugly in place. I would have preferred a threaded lock ring instead, but their solution does work fine. If you're installing this set with a stock system, you will need to make sure the crossovers are being fed a full range signal. If you're installing these in an older vehicle with a simple 2 or 4 speaker system, this should be a simple install. I hope I have included all the details you need to know about this set, I will be including a picture of one of the mids installed as well as one of the tweeters. I have left reviews on the adapters I used if you are curious about those. If you are curious about bypassing the 7 speaker Infinity system in 02-05 Ram trucks, I left a write up on my Kenwood KDC-X303 review. Thanks for reading!

Grateful quality and sound.
Great packaging. Great product. They sound nice. Easy install. Great price for the quality. Just wish they came with wiring connectors. The spades are smaller so I had to pinch the female connectors.

Junk !!
If could do 0 stars I would, Pure Garage, Speaker and Customer Service, Had one blow after a few hours of use and it's even hardly amped, small 100W per channel amp. Started a return said recommended talking to NVX customer service first, So I called took forever then finally said they would process return and email me a label/instructions with 24hrs, Well didn't happen no correspondence at all, So doing return through Amazon and will buy a different brand to replace these POS that's for sure. temp put old factory speakers back in till I replace and I swear they sounded almost as good as these did and they are garage 20w paper speakers. Now their Component ones I bought along with these so far I do like them, but hopefully they don't fail cause I already see how CS is for them. Not good !!

Great Punchy Speakers
Very impressed with these. Never heard of NVX but so far very happy with them. Ran off the stock radio in 2017 f150. Would perform even better if I used an amp. Only get X-series if you have an amp. Otherwise these V-series perform well with stock and can upgrade with an amp later. These are a bit better than N-series.Great punchy bass, not immense low reverb bass. But again it’s only a 6x9. Still improved over stock. Tweeters are much crisper with the crossover in place. It’s a pain to wire but worth the result. The crossover has a toggle to lower the output to the tweeters so you can push more watts to the speakers without getting blasted by the highs. May try that to get a little more out of the 6x9’s. Looking forward to replacing the rears and maybe adding an amp at some point.

These sounded alright when they were working. I have them powered by a pheonix gold 4 channel 78 RMS amp and I never even got them to the point of clipping. On my drive home last night I noticed a bad rattling coming from my passenger woofer and thought my door panel had come loose. When I got home, I noticed the woofer wouldn't work anymore unless I pressed the cone in slightly. Classic signs of a blown voice coil. Pretty choked as these cost over $180 cad. Time to spend more money on a new pair of components and rip my doors apart yet again... DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
