BlueSolar MPPT Solar Charge Controller - MPPT Charge Controller for Solar Panels - 100V 30 amp 12/24-Volt

Victron equipment is more expensive certainly than other equipment, what I can say is now that I've made the switch I'm unlikely to ever go back to cheaper alternatives. The Bluetooth networking just works and I have all my victron gear on a VE networking over Bluetooth, less cables to run, I haven't yet committed to. Victron inverter that is on my wish list. As can be seen fr the photo I have the VenusGX software running from a raspberry Pi, this requires a usb to be network connection as the Bluetooth communication protocol has not (yet) been open sourced, this again just works and does so brilliantly. I have four hankook xv110 sealed lead acid deep cycle leisure batteries in a two series two parallel configuration. Victron battery sensors for each, Victron smartshunt, Victron 100/30 Smartsolar MPPT charge controller Now my use case does have some extreme requirements this is all in an outdoor structure, with the UK weather (esp right now) reaching freezing temperatures and prone to Fog (100% humidity for days at a time), I can say so far I have not been disappointed in this kit.

Had a few of these now after getting a cheap make that lasted a few months.

I'm sure it's good but disappointed that this is the model that requires a Bluetooth dongle, was unaware there were 2 models. Read up on the Victron website about this MPPT and it says Bluetooth built in, wasn't aware there was an old/new version and for an extra £4 obviously I'd have chosen that vs £30 for a dongle. Buyer beware I guess. Hope this can operate without Bluetooth!

The regulator works well with my solar panels and two leisure batteries. It is a shame that the Bluetooth interface is an optional extra. I installed a separate monitor for my system which does the job.

Victron do make very good solar charge controllers. I do like the victron software however since this isn't the Bluetooth version it requires an adittional cable to connect it. I am having issues trying to update the firmware and the software seems to be erasing any data past 2 days old so for that reason I've dropped a star. Edit: the latest Victron Connect software for Windows 10 has resolved my issues so I've now updated my review to 5 stars.

Easy to install, clear instructions. Little dial to set for which battery type you’re charging. Ours is lithium ion and there’s a setting for this. Screws on easily and has three lights showing which phase the charging is in. Had to look up what these mean but very happy with this product. Might go for the Bluetooth version if I ever upgraded but not necessary.

Has everything you will want to start your solar journey. I think overall I've bought a premium product that offers flexibility.

Great product, maximizes power from the panels and lets you know exactly what's going on. More expensive than other products but you get what you pay for. You do need a smart phone to download the App and see what is being produced from your panels. Can take an inlet voltage of 100 volts so connect two panels in series and get even more from your solar but make sure you get the right size Victron to deal with the amps. Would definitely recommend.

Does it have an led display? No Does it work a million times better than Renogy? Yes It's simple and it works. Rock solid. My only beef is get the SMARTSOLAR version with built in Bluetooth as paying $70 for the dongle for this one isn't what I'd call fun.

It works, as recommended by my son-in-law who knows this stuff. I installed 2 lithium storage batteries in our travel trailer, and wanted to upgrade the control system to meet their needs and capabilities. Not knowing what I would do, and knowing how I've screwed up technical stuff in the past, I reached out to my S-I-L to remedy any potential of my self-destruction. It's worked, everything worked, everything still works, ALL OF IT AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO and I didn't have to do it.
