Do not hesitate ... if you're looking for a portable jump starter that will start a dead battery -- Look no further. Single mom certified! One Monday - car dead as doornail. I thought I'd left a light on or something, but research revealed this vehicle to have a history of draining batteries rather unexpectedly. After reading that, I knew I would need a portable jump starter that would not rely on a second vehicle (I drive rural roads). I'm the OCD type that researches every purchase to the hilt. I looked at a LOT of jumpers. I finally took the plunge with the ES2500 and it's a winner! I charged it up at work (upon delivery there) and continued charging overnight at home. In the morning one attempt was all I needed to start my vehicle right up. It's small enough that it sits right in the shallow "storage" area in the "way back." So many of the jumpers on the market are so bulky! That was one of the important features of the ES2500 that convinced me to buy it. That storage area is only about 4.5 - 5 inches deep. I had no problem fitting the petite (but heavy) ES2500 back there. I didn't want it out in the viewable cargo area, sliding around with every turn. While the +100 dollar price made me hesitate, I am convinced it is worth every penny. I can drive fully confident that a dead battery is not ever going to strand me and my daughter in the middle of nowhere. That peace of mind is a priceless blessing. Oh one last thing... It hadn't even been 24 whole hours from the time I ordered the ES2500 before Amazon had it in my hands. I did not pay for overnight. You Rock Amazon!

I live in Florida, and we have seasonal visitors, my neighbors who leave their cars here all summer in garages and when they do arrive for the winter, half of them don't start. Jumper cables are not the answer as they are in garages, nose in and few 50 foot jumpers are available. I don't push cars by hand out of the garages. This is the way to go plus it's a backup for emergency equipment such as cell phones with it's on board power supply. This is an essential part of safety gear here in the hurricane and thunderstorm capitol, Tampa Florida. Most of the major battery companies produce batteries that really don't last as long as their warrantees, and they give you a credit. In Florida heat kills the battery, just as much as cold does up north. Evaporation, most "maintenance free" batteries are maintenance free but not WATER evaporation free. Thats the dealer doesn't tell you and some you can't get to or are really sealed and you are "screwed". Add short drives, lots of starts and stops and the battery really never gets a good charge by driving. I have trickle chargers on all my vehicles and get five years from my batteries not two. This is a great safety backup, shipping was fast and as described. Note: the service trucks for one of the dealer programs here use the ES5000 series to help their customers and when I saw it used here for the "snowbirds" I asked the driver about it. He said" I threw the cheap ones away, these guys works all day long refering to the Clore brand.

This jumper pack has been used more times than I can count and we have only charged it once! We have used it to jump our Prius every day until we got it fixed and we have used it to jump our boat as well. It's heavy and the clamps take a little getting used to because the head on it is kind of small but it works great and gets the job done every time. Definitely a keeper.

I enjoy my car, and often I'll eat my lunch while on my computer listening to my car's XM radio. Sometimes the battery gets rundown and it won't start the car.
