Q: Hello, i’m a beginner. i just transplanted my seedlings into 2 , 5 gallon grow bags. how much should i water after transplant and each day after?

Hi there and happy Sunday! I can definitely help with that. For watering after you transplant into their new location (pots, grow bags, garden bed), it is best to water by the touch/feel of the soil. Press your finger into the soil about 1" below the surface to see if there is still moisture at that level. If not, add water. Keep in mind, now that your plants are in larger containers with more soil (more soil has the capacity to hold more water), you likely will water with larger volumes and less frequently. Though this all depends on your region, how hot it is there and how much sunshine they are getting. This is why it is always important to water based on feel/touch, until you get a sense of how much and how frequently your plants will need watering. Q: I assume you have to buy additional soil (potting mix) to add to the planter pots?

Hi there, happy to help with that! :) Your organic vegetable garden kit comes with rich soil discs that, when rehydrated, will give you enough soil to fill each of the 5 pots that are included in your kit. When the time comes to transplant your growing seedlings (this information is included in your instructional pamphlet set, in the pamphlet titled "2. Transplant"), you have the option of either planting your seedlings into garden beds outdoors, or planting your seedlings into larger containers (either indoors or outdoors, based on your garden setup). If you choose the latter, you'll need additional potting soil to fill your containers to receive the seedlings. Q: Is there a a way to substitute a different seed then radishes? I am not a fan & neither is anyone in the family. Or perhaps purchase one for lettuce?

I'm sorry to say that the kits that customers purchase via Amazon have already been packed and shipped to Amazon warehouses around the United States, so there would be no way to modify kit contents prior to delivery. We do separately offer a USDA Organic "Lettuce & Greens Kit" that you are welcome to look into, as it does contain a variety of organic, non-GMO lettuce seeds. Hi there! Happy to answer that question for you. Also, each of our kits includes detailed instruction about when to plant based on your area and based on the temperatures that your geographical location has each planting season. For our Vegetable Garden Kit, we recommend starting your seeds indoors and then transplanting them to outdoors (garden bed or larger pots) when the temperatures are right to do so. See below for the specific temperatures for each of your 5 veggies: Organic Cherry Tomato Start indoors: 6-8 weeks before last frost date Safe to plant outdoors: 60-85 degrees Green Bean Start indoors: 2 weeks before last frost date Safe to plant outdoors: 50-85 degrees Carrot Start indoors: 3 weeks before last frost date Safe to plant outdoors: 50-80 degrees Butterhead Lettuce Start indoors: 3-4 weeks before last frost date Safe to plant outdoors: 45-70 degrees Radish Start indoors: 2 weeks before last frost date Safe to plant outdoors: 45-85 degrees Search your local almanac online to find the exact last frost date for your area, then base your planting times off of that using the information included in your pamphlet (some of which is above).
