When Bonnie takes the toys on her family's road trip, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep, whose adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. Woody and Bo are worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, and they soon realise that that's the least of their worries. Review: Does this film live up to the Toy Story legacy? Yes. Does it leave me feeling as though it should have been more? Yes. By no means is this a mediocre film, it is far from being average. For me it sits between 8.5 to 9/10, which places it as the weakest Toy Story entry for myself. I grew up with Toy story, Toy Story 3 was amazing and the parting of Andy and Toys was delivered by Pixar with absolute perfection. I felt happy that nearly all toy story characters in Toy Story 3 were given a limelight and of course everybodies favourite Woody and Buzz were given the screen time they deserve. It also left room for other beloved characters like Jessie and rex to have a meaningful place in the story. Toy story 4 however is mainly Woody's film. All beloved characters didn't really get the screen time they deserved and when they did it was for roles which left me feeling they were ditched. (Spoiler!!) The goodbye between buzz and Woody was executed well, but becuase of Buzz's low profile in the film, it just felt too sad not the bittersweet it should have been. Again, Toy Story 4 is by no means a bad film, it is by any standards a VERY Good film. The story was very good and it made sense for Woodys character development. Seeing all of the toys again was amazing, and the tribute to Mr potato heads actor was nice. The return of Bo peep was great as her absence in Toy Story 3 was one of the negatives of the film. The comedy is as good, if not better, than ever due to dynamics between long loved and new characters. The Vincent's gave me a cringy shiver (so freaky) reminiscent of how chuck made me feel, absolutely brilliant. The visual effects work is just stunning, really nailed the Pixar art style that I have always loved. Overall I would give this a 8.5 to 9/10. Hence it would be unfair to award it 4/5 as it deserved better than that. Highly recommend. Review: I laughed, I cried, I laughed again, and I sobbed! Beautiful from start to finish - by far the best Toy Story!

* Story Andy has gone to college. The toys are in the company of Bonny, and she's off to Induction day of primary school. To support her, Woody sneaks into her bag and helps her to create another toy. As a treat, Bonnys parents go on a road trip. The toy Bonny made, 'Forkie' leads the group to an investigation in a store and local fairground. The emotional aspect is a doll with a damaged voice box who leads a group. What happens next? * Summary The big difference with this Blu ray is the superb quality of the subtle multiple colour rendering that makes the fairground sections photorealistic. The emotional parts are with the 1950's doll that was rejected due to her having a damaged voice, and Woody lets her have his to give her a chance. Note the music at one point is the from 'the Shining'. I saw this at the flicks and rejected it. I saw this on Blu -ray recently and rate it very much. Woody departs the franchise and this may have a major influence on any following story. Hes a major feature of the heart and story.
