Yes it will but it will not Efficient with a 8ohm due to Ohms law, but I do it anyway. It wont hurt anything ... but you will be the judge.

Q: To use this item correctly do I need subwoofers and tweeters or can i get good sounds with subwoofers and mid range speakers?

George -- You will definitely need a tweeter and a subwoofer speaker , as this is a 2-way Cross over (means its separating the Frequencies - HIGHS/ LOWS). After install this puppy (Crossover) your highs will be higher & your subwoofer will be lower

Q: Can I run this straight from my head unit into factory speakers to reduce the bass?

I would not do that.. The radio power is not enough power.. You should just get bass blockers instead
