It doesn't work.

Nifty little drive. 2 key points I need to make first: 1) You CAN possibly run it from just one USB port, even though the directions advise using two. On my XP DELL PC it runs fine on one USB port, at least for reading - haven't tried burning yet which might take more power and require the second USB port. 2) The ONLY strike against it is the USB cable is too short, as others have commented. It is barely over a foot long - 4 to 6 feet would be preferable to allow more flexibility in placement. PROS: 1) pretty exterior, nice shiny black surface. 2) small footprint - only about half an inch thich, hardly larger than a few DVDS stacked. 3) simplicity of installation - all i had to do was plug in one USB cable - no software, no nothing. Didn't even get a "found new hardware" dialogue. BEAUTIFUL! 4)price - i paid under $30 after the rebate, delivered. CONS: 1) the disk tray is not power loading, but it is power locking. So it has to be plugged in to open it, but all it does is unlock when you press the eject button, you have to manually pull it open and closed. A small con to pay given all the PROS. 2) AS noted earlier the USB cable is too short. 3) I'd prefer if we had a choice in exterior drive colors (dark red OR pastel pink would be lovely, others might prefer gold, silver, blue - give us some CHOICE - why is APPLE the only company that gets it?) 4) The drive runs a bit slower on the USB bus than a comparable onboard drive, due to the speed limitations of the USB bus. This is not a strike against this particular model, but will be an issue with any USB 2.0 drive. Overall a small price to pay unless you are looking to burn high volume in which case you will not want to go this route. Overall, this drive does a superb job of doing what it is supposed to do and thus deserves a 5 star rating.

Sinnvolles Gadget um CD-R mit 10-facher Geschwindigkeit zu brennen. Leider ist das Anschlusskabel sehr kurz.
