Hold up well but leave crumbs everywhere.
My dogs have been intently chewing these for about an hour and a half. They didn’t want to put them down to go outside and both tried to carry them with them. They don’t splinter as some have said, they more disintegrate and leave crumbs all over the floor. Easy enough to vacuum. They do have a very pungent smoky odor, though. Happy to have found something to keep them both occupied for more than 2 minutes, finally! They are a bit pricey so won’t be buying them too often.

Like crack to my puppy
These are fantastic. Before they arrived I'd expected the bones to smell gamey/unpleasant but they actually smell quite delicious (like BBQ/smokey). They last foreverrr for my boy but I have to take them away occasionally to give my puppy's brain a break because he literally will not leave them alone because he loves them too much 😂 Things to be aware of - they're enormous. The size hasn't been a problem or anything but it did surprise me to see them in real life. The other thing is they're not really messy per sè, but you may wind up with quite a few very small bone "crumbs" (also note: the bones are smoked - so they don't splinter and are safe for your dog) so I'd recommend to put down a blanket or something so it is easy to brush off into the trash occasionally if you let your dog chew on them indoors (which I do). Vacuum picks up the crumbs just fine though too. Great purchase and my dog loves them too! Edit: I didn't originally include this info in my review, but my puppy (a Doberman Pinscher) was about 4 months old when I ordered these for him. At the time of this edit, I still have both bones and even though the meat is long gone he still likes to gnaw on the bones occasionally (pup is 8.5 months old now and has a zillion other options for chewing though he is super high energy so doesn't tend to just "sit and chew"). I've not experienced the splintering mentioned by at least one review I've seen, though he tends to chew on the ends and not the middle. Will update if I see any significant splintering.

Splinters into razor sharp pieces
These bones are a dog health hazard. I have a 106lbs American Bulldog. I gave him one and he loved it. He chewed the knuckle and a small piece must have broken off that he swallowed. The next morning I was woke up early hearing that dog gagging noise. To late. Found the small piece he had swallowed. This time I gave it to him while I could keep a good eye on him. While chewing I could see very small fine little pieces didn't think much of it. Then I heard a loud crunch I ran over and saw slivers of the bone very sharp like razors. The small pieces also were very sharp. Needless to say I picked up all the pieces and threw it in the garbage. The problem is I bought a two-pack tried to send it back and this is what they told me. Ostrich Bones- Great for Heavy Chewers
I recently tried ostrich bones for my two heavy-chewing dogs, and I'm thrilled with the results! These bones lasted an impressive two weeks, which is a remarkable feat considering the power of my fur babies' jaws. What impressed me the most was that they did not splinter, ensuring the safety of my dogs during their chewing sessions. On the downside, I did notice that the ostrich bones left quite a mess with bits of bone scattered all over the floor. While it's not a deal-breaker, it did require some extra cleanup on my part. Overall, I can confidently say that ostrich bones are a fantastic choice for heavy chewers. The extended durability and the fact that they don't splinter make them a top-notch option for keeping your dogs entertained and their teeth healthy. Just be prepared for a little extra tidying up after playtime.

Essential for dogs. Keeps teeth sparklingly white, and dogs busy
We've literally bought hundreds of these smoked ostrich bones. They're the best solution for oral health - our vet is always dazzled by our dogs pristine chompers. They last hours and hours of heavy chewing. Excellent value. I've given dozens away, every dog deserves Boss-trich bones! They're safe for puppies because the bones are very light for their size, with lots of hollow air chambers. The airy quality makes them safe for heavy chewers without risk of cracking teeth. Gave them to one of my dogs since he was 9 weeks.

Stomach issues
My pitbull seemed to love the bone. Then threw up pieces for 2 straight days. Not the fault of the product-but not for every dog.

Better than Brushing your Dogs' Teeth 'cause they LOVE this!
My shiba inu's teeth are so white that my vet is impressed. Plus, she loves loves loves them, goes crazy with joy when she gets a fresh one. And because they are bird bones, lots of air space which makes it easy to pack with a little peanut butter. She goes happily into her crate at bedtime for a PB O bone.
