Q: can these be powered with usb?

Yes it can ! USB is about 5 volts and the product specifications says from 3 to 12 volts (VDC) And I was curious so I have connected on of these LED's to 5 volts DC and they light real good. I could not see the difference between 5 or 12 volts, it's amazing! I have bought many LED's from China but most of them are bad quality, for example the cables to thin so you could not do much with it or the broke.. But this set is perfect for me. These little leds got used for a traxxas summit to replace all of the low voltage lights. I hooked them up to direct power from the battery's and they work great! Nice color range and the included wires are easy to work with.

Easy to solder

These LEDs are very bright and easy to use as they are already split at the ends making it easy to solder. The color is a pure white and fits great with 1/10 sclae crawlers.

Not the brightest LEDs but…

Not the brightest LEDs but, hey, you’re on Amazon looking at these. If you want higher quality you’re gonna need to find something more specific to your needs. Used these to supplement an LED strip I already had for a custom tail light. Didn’t need them super bright but just enough to assist the strip. One star off for the brightness, but otherwise good deal

Appears to be of good quality.I checked each and every one. I just hated to have to buy all the colors just to get the red/green and white ones I needed. I am using them for rc air craft.
