An excellent starter kit
I bought this over three years ago and am pleased now to add a long-term review. I have upgraded to five stars from four as it has proved the test of time and my big concern of noise and filter performance were easy to fix with an upgrade. First and foremost, it is a great bit of kit. It has all the basics to provide an ornamental indoor water feature. There are a few things that you will want to upgrade on it as you become more adept - and as the livestock count is increased. The cabinet is sturdy - and has not sagged or faded in 3 years, and the heater tube still doing a grand job. The glass itself is rock solid - at least a 2-man lift to get it in place after cabinet assembly - 3 recommended. The LED-based strip light has barely faded in 3 years (running it roughly 6 hours per day). A flap at the rear of the top allows easy access to service the filter, and a similar flap at the front of the top provides access to add food. The cabinet comes flat packed but is straightforward to assemble. The power head hangs from a bulkhead pre-attached to the top of the glass and draws water up from the main tank; a venturi on the head draws in air via an external tube and forces it via a tiny tube into the water as a small jet stream. Meanwhile, the drawn water is discharged horizontally into a triveted tray running along the full length at the back of the tank just above the water line. The filter medium sits in that tray and water is polished, falling through the filter material, running to the left and discharging back into the tank at the back left by gravity through a stub spout. Provided there are very few fish in here, and provided one cleans the filter regularly and does partial water changes weekly, there is no reason this set-up cannot be maintained without significant upgrades. The one irritant with this arrangement is the noise of the water as it returns to the tank after filtration. Even with a full tank there is an inch or so drop from the spout. Whilst the sound of running water can be soothing, 24/7 it can irritate! HINT: When installing this aquarium, unless space is extremely tight in your room, leave a few inches between the tank and the wall for unforeseen operations (filter upgrade, electrical distribution ,piping, cleaning the rear face of the glass with a magnetic scraper, access to hoover what is otherwise a thin but tall and wide dust trap) I have chosen to upgrade the filter system to a Fluval external chamber device, allowing selection of different and multiple filter media and reducing maintenance frequency. I feared to do this might require some butchering of the lid and/or cabinet top. However, when I lifted out the original filter tray and power head, I was pleasantly surprised to find this had already been thought of - the rear member of the tank escutcheon had been pre-drilled to take the inlet and outlet. The typical place for such a filter canister would be in one of the cupboards below the aquarium - and they are certainly big enough to accommodate. In my case I had the aquarium backing on to a service cupboard and sat my filter inside that - making what would have been a quiet installation even quieter. In summary, an excellent piece of kit which will stand the test of time - but expect to want to upgrade to a decent filter system in due course. Budget for that - they are not the cheapest bit of kit.

Great tank if you can handle it
Had this 300ltr for a couple of months now and it really is the business. I had a bit of a struggle with it as it is "heavy" in all senses of the word, ideally you need two strongish people to get it into the property (curb side delivery with a free pallet thrown in) and then to the room you plan to have it in and onto the base which you must assemble first - straight forward enough. The delivery person in my case helped me get into the hallway but I had to manage the rest of it from there. I just about did it, but I am a fairly large male with the added (waning) over belief in my heft and ability to do things by myself. We bought it for our goldfish who was getting bigger - they can get quite large - and with the idea of introducing three tiddler goldfish to keep it company and it has worked a treat. Goldfish can life for up to 20 to 40yrs so a decent and interesting environment is important. The lid based filter system has taken a little bit of getting used to and setting up the pump is fiddly and I did not seem to have the right tubing to fit the pump in the packaging but jury-rigged it just fine due to not wanting to wait sending it back etc.. I also added a 30cm diameter Perspex pipe to the left of the tank where the filtered water drops into the tank as the water drops into the tank in order to help aerate the water, but it makes (in my view) quite a lot of noise.... the addition of the pipe allows the water to be released under the water level and still aerates the tank but with much les noise.... Cleaning is a bit harder as you cannot simply take the top off and there are bracer beams across the top of the tank (its that large) so you have to work round that, but it’s not a big deal in my view, but for those shorter that me (I'm 6' 4") you may need a step to stand on whilst cleaning in order to reach into the tank sufficiently. All said however I think this is a wonderful tank and its great watching the fish enjoy the space!!! definite buy if you can afford it

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST!
I'm not even sure where to begin! I ordered this item at the end of July 2019. It seemed ok at first, but after a few weeks we realised it was beginning to leak from a faulty area of sealant. We asked for a replacement but the seller only offered £20 to buy new sealants to fix it ourselves! (I'm not sure what they wanted me to do with the fish while we made such a repair). I refused this offer and filed an a-z claim with Amazon. We were granted a replacement which arrived safely but the seller said they would arrange collection of the faulty tank, but never did (its still sat in my garage to this day). It was pretty stressful but we successfully transferred the fish safely. In July of this year, the replacement tank prceeded to crack on the corner and leak its contents all over my floor, flooding a room in my house, soaking a PS4 and electrical sockets, my child's toys and a large area of the floor. I reported to the seller WITHIN A YEAR OF PURCHASE. They then proceeded to drag their heals intentionally , finally replying to my emails saying they couldn't refund because it had been over a year since purchase!!!!! We exchanged many emails after this point, with each email they ignored my pleas for help and repeatedly asked when they could collect the fault item. After a lengthy exchange with amazon, they have decided they can't help either. So now I have 2 useless fish tanks here which I will now have to pay to dispose of, and I'm £500 out of pocket with absolutely no help from anywhere. So, pleased avoid this product, 2 broken/faulty items, and please avoid this very rude, dismissive and unhelpful seller who should be extremely greatful i am not seeking compensation from them never mind a refund. A disgusting experience all round.

Care about their customers
Brilliant customer service when tank arrived leaking due to poor transportation, they send out a new one for next day and to collect faulty one as the courier company delivered it on a transit van, should of been on a tail lift truck. They was super helpful and fast the tank is very well built great design. Only slight change would make would be to allow you to run your own filter along side the one they send with the tank. The current lid design you have to remove their one to allow your tubes to go in the premade holes. Also I would drill the pre hole at the top rather than the bottom of the cabinet to allow standard filter tubes to reach the far side of the tank as I now have to buy longer tubes to allow it to reach the top of the tank, due to the tube needing to down inside the cupboard to go out the hole then all the way up. Those many inches wasted needing to go down would of allowed the filter to reach. Other than those slight adjustments to the tank and cabinet, it's amazing value, excellent support.

Fabulous product, great service from MonsterShop
I decided to wait a couple of weeks before submitting my review. I can now say that my wife and I just luv this new tank, I was unsure at first about the filter system being at the top but I can say that it’s so much easier than the last tank. I also wanted to see how the filtration would compare to needing an external filter pump and no need to worry as the system as it is is doing a grand job. I’ve added media, charcoal and more filters and the tank has remained clear with a good PH. MonsterShop delivered exactly on time and in perfect condition. Had a LED tube blow last week, phoned Monster and they arranged delivery for a new one which arrived within the 3 days allocated, well done MonsterShop 👍👍👍 Recent visitors commented on how smart the aquarium looks and I totally agree 😁😬😁 4 stars for no other reason is that I never gives top marks for anything, that’s just me. Thoroughly recommend this tank and MonsterShop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Its a deep tank that will showcase fish perfect
Ok so this is great tank to display fish but i had few problems 1st was putting stand together the instructions was very basic and missed the detail of what went where screws wise and when putting together with metal cams couple did not seem to catch as dowel did not seem to be high anuff in hole for it to grip also on tighening cams seems to bulge out wood around area i used clear gorilla clear glue in the end with it just incase with it having so much weight going on it . The lid looks very nice on top of tank down sides is holds alot of water on underside of lids so cant move lid if wanted till u dry it all up .filter tray can be removed to use own internal filter etc gap in front flap ample to feed fish but any work in tank would have to remove whole lid . I got some clear plastic sheet and cut 3 custum sections for top of tank and solved the water on lid and helps with heat for tank etc aswel . The gravel i had come with tank is of ok nature it had objects in with it in picture bits plastic bag ,string ,shards of glass ,wool ,wood twigs it was mix of shells and medium ish pea gravel . I know u ment to wash gravel to clean before use but dont expect to find this stuff just to be washing off dust realy . The wood decaration and plants was good fish realy like the wood cave its a hollow cave with lots holes for access in and out .u will prob find that u will need make new hole higher in cabinet on right side for cables as the dont reaçh to floor with tank being so tall so u will need shelf in that side . I would of given higher stars but due to issues i mark it 3 but i have to say now its in place fixed it is a very nice looking tank . I hope pictures help with what i have said aswel .

Great aquarium for the money
Brilliant aquarium. Easy to assemble stand. Doesn't come with mat unfortunately but worth every penny. Awful fake plants came with it. Gravel not great either too large traps debris easily. I prefer to use sand. Light works a treat only blue and white spectrum. Its a tall aquarium so can make it difficult to clean with vacuum. All on all great for what it cost :)
