Expensive but it works!
I was hesitant to buy this item even after reading the reviews because it is SO darn expensive, but gosh am I glad that I bit the bullet and bought it. IMMEDIATE relief - no joke. It stabilizes your CMC joint so well that while youβre wearing it, youβll forget about the pain that comes from that joint. I can wear this and still do my HIIT workouts with no issues. Itβs small, easy to put on/off, it really helps - a win-win in my book. Much different from my Mueller brace which is softer but bulky (try using a remote with that on) and constantly unwraps around the thumb. (that being said, I do still wear it to bed at night) Donβt know why it is listed as a βfrequently returned itemβ since it works!

PUSH MetaGrip CMC Thumb Brace Review
(June 2025) I recently went to see an orthopedic physician specializing in hand/thumb issues. The X-Rays and MRI scan showed "Prominent osteoarthritis change with partial subluxation of the first carpometacarpal articulation". The physician said my pain in my right thumb was mainly due to arthritis. She recommended the Push brand of CMC thumb brace, stated better quality than the generic, but more expensive. I have been wearing this brace for about 2 weeks now and love it. Very comfortable, keeps my thumb stable and pain free. Can still do my regular chores and functions, except heavy exercise. Easy to clean, simple to use. Well worth the money to protect your health. I just purchased another one for a backup.

Size does matter.
When I first tried this, I thought it was a little pricey. For a long term commitment though maybe worth the investment. The first one was small, and it fit tight and pinched in all the wrong places. So I decided, what the heck, I think I can give a little larger a go. And boy, am I sure glad I did. It holds me just right, and the relief it gives me is impressive to say the least. If you're needing a little pressure released, I highly recommend.

Effective butβ¦
These braces (I use left & right) are the best Iβve found to keep my CMC bone spurs from digging into the surrounding tissue while handling tools, etc. and reducing the inevitable pain. They stand up to water and grease and clean up pretty well when needed. They are also far less noticeable than the black Futuro braces that I also use when relaxing while reading or watching TV. They arenβt cheap but your insurance should cover them if you have the medical record to justify it. The only real negative is where the hard plastic rides between the thumb and the index finger. Over time, the flared thumb hole plastic digs into the tissue underneath, where the skin is thin and there is no fat to cushion it. It got really sore for me over time. Iβve had to cut adhesive cushions to wrap around the thumbhole completely, otherwise they work loose. Also, if you wear them a lot, a callus can develop where the plastic transitions to the straps from rubbing against the heel of the palm. Still, I donβt know of a better CMC brace if you still want to handle tools. Also, once youβve got the straps tight, make a fist and adjust them back off a bit for your best fit. These braces allow work gloves to slide over them, giving a bit more support at the wrist and some padding overall. If you've got this condition, every little edge can take some stress off. These definitely help me avoid as much inflammation as I can while still living my life. Minus 1 star due to lack of padding where critical for daily use.

Who knew a therapeutic hand implement could be such a winner
Very supportive therapeutic implement. My hand therapist, Jeremy Domina, recommended this specific brand and model. From my use so far, itβs a great fit. Durable, fits like a glove, and supportive. Customized quality and comfortable to wear. The design is crafted tomold like a second hand, without any bumps or digs into your hand. I like the Velcro strappings, as they are also top knotch quality. All the little nuisances make such a great difference in comfort and desirability to wear as directed. Highly recommend this product. πππ

Great brace!
Great brace! It was recommended by my hand doctor. Expensive but worth it. The brace is not restrictive. I am able to work on my computer when wearing the brace and I can write wearing it as well.

Reduction of discomfort
I purchased this brace after hearing a hand physician recommend it in a podcast on Hand and Wrist Treatments. For me this brace actually decreases my thumb pain while still doing the things I love to do. It is not bulky, did not take much time for me to get us to it and most of the day I forget I have it on.It's ability to stabilize the thumb joint and decrease its movement has been a game changer.Make sure you follow their very clear instructions on how to customize/fit the brace to your thumb. Not inexpensive and I'll have to save up to get one for my left thumb but know I will do it.
