Good comb
Nice thickness and weight. Good use for what I need as I groom my personal dog and my moms. It works well.

Works great on Mattie's mats!
Recently rescued a no-shed dog, not sure if she is a doodle or a poodle. . Poor baby was living outside of an abandoned house for who knows how long, and I had never seen such spectacular mats in my life - like every strand of hair was tangled in to every other strand so that it was just one really messed up, painful torture device. I surrendered and just named her Mattie so I could get going on the problem.. The combs I had were bending and breaking off teeth, so I researched metal combs and settled on the ten inch 68545 Andis. It has a great weight to it and very sturdy tines, is well balanced and easy to hold on to. It goes through the hair well and doesn't bend when we hit a mat. Great size, teeth are perfectly spaced and rounded off so they don't hurt the dogs. Had to add that "S" since my other dogs are playing us really close as we work on Mattie's mats. They insisted an trying out the comb and I found out that it works great on smooth, straight normal dog hair too. We all like the Andis 68545 and I'm thinking I just might buy one for my husband..

Works for My Pom
I used this to groom my Pom with the thick double-coat and it worked well to fluff up her coat. I do like the longer length of the larger spaced teeth versus the smaller ones. And it does have a nice sturdy feel to it as well.

Best dog comb I've ever used- for shedding and non-shedding breeds alike.
I have a shih tzu puppy, and it's a high maintenance breed as far as grooming goes, so I did my research on good grooming products. After watching some youtube videos on shih tzu grooming, I found they both used this type of comb, only by a much more expensive brand name. I decided on this Andis brand comb after reading the reviews and seeing that others were satisfied with this product more than the more expensive brand. After getting the comb in the mail, I tried it on my shih tzu puppy. It's easy to handle, and gets knots out easily without hurting her. The fine end was good for her face and paws. This comb made her look very nice and fluffy. I also have a golden retriever, that sheds A LOT. I originally had no intention of using this comb on her as I have a special shedding comb for her, but thought I'd give it a shot. It worked AMAZINGLY!!! The round tongs went through her fur smoothly, while picking up all her extra undercoat. Shedding combs are usually very sharp and abrasive, not to mention take forever to get all the extra hair. And it seems like I never get it all. But this Andis comb picked up all the extra fur easily, didn't scratch her, and made her coat look beautiful and freshly groomed when I was done. Not only that, but the comb held on to the extra hair, and was easy to clean off, instead of sending clumps of hair every where like the deshedding comb does. I'm very satisfied with this comb and will be recommending it to all the dog lovers I know!

Large 7.5 inch comb is 1.5 inches wide
This Andis comb is the largest that I have used on my small dogs. It works well on their body or for holding hair in place while scissoring. Even though the comb is only an inch longer than the combs that I usually use on my dogs, it is the 1.5 inch width and size of the teeth that makes this one seem so big. It works very well on long hair and would be ideal for larger breed dogs. Andis makes quality grooming products and this is a comfortable comb to hold. The edge is rounded and the teeth are not too sharp and do not irritate my dog’s skin. I like to use stainless steel combs because they are easy to clean and do not break.

Works great on my Shih tzu poodle mix
Amazing comb. Very rugged with two options: teeth spaced wide or narrow.

Well-made comb for long-haired cats
I have a long-haired cat. Because her fur is so long and fine, the hair frequently gets twisted and tangled up into mats. Because it's been such an ordeal trying to keep her mat-free, I've been looking for a good comb to brush her hair out. I happened to find the Andis Pet 7 1/2" steel comb after researching and cross-checking the reviews among their competitors. I like this one the most because it's well made: the teeth of the comb are rounded and have not bended and warped on me with use. Although my cat doesn't love it, she tolerates me combing her when she's calm and mellow. I love that this comb separates the individual strands in all of her fur. With daily brushing, I've found that this is pretty good at keeping the mats at bay. I would recommend this to any cat owner with a long-haired cat, particularly a cat with very fine, tangle-prone hairs.. Be careful when using this comb, however. It's designed to separate the hair away from the skin, which is why it tends to hook into mats. If you pull at the comb stuck into the mats, you'll pull at your cat's hair and skin leading to an angry cat. I try to isolate the mat as well as I can between the length of my two fingers (pretend your fingers are like scissors and hold the mat in between your fingers away from the skin, like you would hold a cigarette) and pick at the mat using the teeth of the comb in short strokes. With patience and sometimes a little olive oil as lubricant, the mat will release itself.

It's a keeper!
This is a great comb for our standard poodle. We comb her daily for maintenance, as she mats easily. She does like it - by day three, she requested being combed. The comb itself is just under ten inches long and easy to grip. The tines are 1 1/2" long, allowing us to comb our dog's hair with ease. This is a supplement comb for a Chris Christensen 7 1/2" comb with tines about 1 1/4" long, which worked fine for her summer coat length. These larger tines get all the way through her thicker longer winter coat to her skin. Honestly, will probably use it in the summer as well, since it is much easier to grip. We also considered a more expensive comb - Utsumi - that our groomer uses, but decided to purchase this (less expensive) one. If this one didn't work, we would have sprung for the more expensive brand. This one's a keeper! Seller was Amazon; it is clearly stamped with ANDIS and arrived in the branded packaging.

I love this comb for my poodle! It keeps her hair nice and soft and fluffy. We start with a larger comb then use this to fine tune and help fluff her out. I like the two different comb settings depending on how tangled her fur is. Overall very sturdy and great results with this. It has some weight to it, so I like it.
