Washington Road & Recreation Atlas - 10th Edition, 2022 (Benchmark)

These are such nice maps! I love the plasticized paper they are printed on. Makes for refolding the map a cinch! The map itself is very nice. Well done and easy to read. Big enough print I can see it without a magnifier. My husband and I travel during the warmer months with our travel trailer and I like to see the big picture of where we are and where we are headed. GPS is great, but maps make me feel more secure. Plus we can plan out trips more easily. I would definitely recommend these maps to anyone in need. The paper is great and doesn't break or tear like traditional maps.

If your adventures take you anywhere off the beaten path or any place where signal might not be as robust as you'd like be sure to have a gazetteer or an atlas along. I would saythis one is a good choice. No paper map lasts forever so be sure to have the most recent edition for your chosen area. Easy to read. Good indexing. A very cool thing about a book of maps is that in a pinch you can always burn it… Try that with Google maps.

Buyer Beware! I bought this atlas in February to surprise my husband with a future road trip to Washington! He was really excited to get the atlas and we were thankful to have it handy while on our trip... until we got to one of the more remote areas of the state where road signage is almost non-existent and OUR ATLAS WAS MISSING PAGES 13-14 & 111-112! At some point during the manufacturing process this entire sheet was left out - and we were LOST WITH NO MAP! As I mentioned, we were remote. There was no cell service - no Google Maps (to the detail that we needed). Unfortunately, we had to do some backtracking to get back to an area with map coverage and find a safe route. I was really upset that the pages that Encompassed a big portion of the area I wanted to explore were MISSING. UPDATE - I reached out to the seller after my review. They promply mailed a new atlas that contained all pages at no charge and I did not have to send the incomplete atlas back to them. This gesture showed that this is a decent company with good customer service. I guess the morale of the story here is to make sure you check your maps and atlases before you go on your roadtrip! Safe travels!

I have three of these atlases now. They are very helpful for trip planning and exploring! Reliable when google maps quits working :)

Benchmark State Atlas books are awesome, worth every penny! I have I believe every one published in the western USA now and I keep several Washington ones around, one in each vehicle plus another in my house. I study them regularly to keep adding to my knowledge of our fantastic very scenic state of Washington! For its size, Washington state might well be the most geographically diverse of any state. Only possibly California and Alaska could be more diverse but they both are much larger, too. God Bless Benchmark and Washington state!

Got us around a few parts perfect

Right of the bat, I have to admit that I'm a little old school. Cellphones are ok for local driving directions, but I like this for planning a trip and to take along with you for reference to easily see the whole area and possible points of interest. Great for the "big picture" and also loaded with info. I have used the California and Oregon ones extensively. Be aware there is a tendancy for the covers to come undone with a lot of use. You may want to tape the spine.

Simply the best road atlas out there….

Auch in Zeiten von Google Maps und digitalen Wander / Outdoor Apps ist dieser große Atlas eine große Hilfe. Für längere Trips in die USA würde ich mir immer wieder Atlanten aus dieser Serie zulegen.

So pleased with this atlas, our GPS was unreliable and faulty 9/10 so this became our essential item during our road trip! I've never navigated by map before but found it easy as the roads are clearly shown and the large format made it easy to follow where we were going as well as plan alternative routes if need be. Also makes a great keepsake after to look at the places we drive through.

Product arrived damaged. Long shipping time prevents me from returning and getting a replacement, as I need it for an upcoming trip. Content is as advertised but either the seller or Amazon need to revise their packing/shipping technique for soft covers.
