Great But Must Have Protocol
Product worked as described. I felt better knowing if she found herself in the pool, we would be alerted. We forgot key at some point, so used a scissor to lock and unlock. Would be better if the lock was a common tool, or could fit a coin. Advice: this tool is great, but it serves no purpose if the adults in the room don’t have a protocol to follow. So, get this wristband, but also talk to the adults about what to do when you hear the alarm sound. In my case, the alarm went off, but the adults were more worried about turning off the loud noise and not waking the other children who were in the process of sleeping, than finding out where my little one was and if she was safe. What I should have done was tell them at dinner that if the alarm sounds the first thing we are going to do it look for my baby (make physical eye contact with her, not just I just saw her with so and so so I am assuming she’s safe) and make sure she is safe. Start with the pool, call her name around the house/outside, search in bathtubs, toilets (bodies of water). Then worry about turning it off. It sounds ridiculous for me to share this piece of advice with you because st the time, it seemed so obvious to me what would happen if we heard the alarm, but as you can see better to be safe than sorry.

Great Product
Great product! We have a brand new pool and two young boys (2 & 5). It works great - the alarm is VERY loud!! My only complaint is getting the bracelets on them. I love that the bracelets "lock" so the kids can't remove them but they are difficult to get on. The clasping system requires you to feed the opposite end of the bracelet into the clasp before putting it on (make the "bracelet" and then feed your child's hand through the circle." this is really tough/frustrating to do with a wiggly 2 year old. We just put them on in the morning and leave them on all day. Kids don't seem to mind. We have forgotten they're on and have had many false alarms (playing in sprinklers and with hoses), but I'll take false alarms all day over the alternative.

Great If Your Child Will Thrash Around - Not If She Sinks. PSA: DO NOT WEAR ON THE ANKLE
We bought this for use when visiting my parents, who have a pool. The bracelet was easy to put on my 3.5 year old (although she did not like wearing it) and to set up. While this alarm bracelet is one form of protection, it is not 100% reliable. I tested it for multiple scenarios, and it does not always work if it is not removed partially from the water. For example, I dropped the bracelet into the shallow part of the pool 3 times to see how it would function for a child who fell into the water and was so stunned that they just dropped like a rock - it only worked 1 of the 3 times. However, if the child thrashes, the alarm goes off quickly. The instructions recommend against putting it on a child's ankle. They should instead strictly prohibit putting it on a child's ankle (it fit my child's ankle, so it's not outside the realm of possibility) because if you do, it won't work. The child's ankle is so far into the water and has no chance of NOT being fully submerged that the alarm is not triggered. So while this device is helpful towards a safe pool experience, you can't fully rely on it. At this price-point, this is a serious shortcoming.

It worked like a charm
We purchased this item for a vacation home in Hawaii. It worked like a charm! Gave us piece of mind in case our toddler got up at night and managed to get out of the house. It is very sensitive (he licked it one time and spilled some of his bottle on it another time) and it set the alarm off - and the family scrambling for the pool. I would rather it be over sensitive than the alternative. Our concern was that he wouldn't wear the bracelet, but we told him it was a watch like his Dad's and his grampa's and he never worried with it after that. It remained on his arm the entire vacation. I would definitely recommend this product. We did not have any issues with the strap or the key, but we didn't remove it for the 7 days we were on vacation.

Great idea and technology works as intended, but wrist device broke after one week, so cannot risk my child's safety
My 2 year old wore this bracelet for less than one week before it broke. The plastic is cheap and we won't be replacing based on the many reviews where the same thing happened to others. This is a great product and great concept and while it did work as intended, the plastic material is not worth betting my childs safety on therefore I don't recommend this unless/until the manufacturer comes up with something better. Honestly I'm shocked that this seems to be such an issue - there are so many amazingly strong plastics these days - hairbrushes, toys, even product packaging! however this very important safety device apparently took the cheapest bid to shave costs. Sad.

Functionally works well. Not for us though.
This functionally works really well and is really simple. It gets wet, alarm goes off. Plug and play couldn't be easier. Yes it's sensitive but I'd much rather it be sensitive than erratic.I bought this because I pulled my three year old off the bottom of a pool last year during a family gathering. We were all right there but will all the commotion and other activity we didn't see him fall in. He lived but I regularly have nightmares and panic attacks after that event. I bought this device for my youngest son (two years old) to wear at the same annual family gathering. In order for this to be effective, my two year old needed to wear it constantly. Constantly taking it on and off added layers of possible error. We'd take it off while he swam but then would forget to put it back on. Or he'd get out for a few minutes then decide to get back in, so we'd leave it off for an hour. Then he'd take a bath or a shower and we'd need to take it off again. That much on and off--that requires a custom key to take off--made me much less likely to put it back on again. And that doesn't take into account the fact that a two year old hated having this bulky, uncomfortable turtle strapped to his body. I have three boys and was with 13 other nieces/nephews and decided a couple days into our week long trip that the product didn't work for our family. The product itself works well. I don't want to ding the Safety Turtle too much. It does exactly what it says and does it well. Just didn't work for our family.
