Not premium
These are wonderful novels but this is a cheaply produced version of them. Plasticky cover. Tracepaper like pages. Nothing like eg. Everyman’s library. Great for a present for a younger audience but definitely not premium for a collection

Definitely not worth £35
I bought this book as a present for a friend who is a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. At £35 for a hardback book I was expecting something pretty impressive, but unfortunately this was not the case. In fact, the printing of the text and image on the front cover wasn't even straight, indicating a lack of professionalism. The overall feel of the book is of an average quality book, not what I was expecting for £35. I then purchased a different hardback version of the complete works of Sherlock Holmes from a different publisher (costing £10 less) and was pleased to receive a book of far superior quality, better printing, gilt edged pages and generally a much better standard overall. I will return this original copy as it's just not to the standard I would expect for this high price. There are definitely better alternatives available - and cheaper too!

It’s a hardback but…..
Don’t expect too much from this - it’s cheaply made and the paper is very poor quality. The gilding is fairly sloppily done too. Overall, Ok.

Be careful with the pages, they are stuck together because of the gold thing around the pages. be gentle while separating them.

I’ve been meaning to own the Sherlock Holmes novels in hardcover for a while, and this deluxe edition hit the spot. The cover design is minimal but elegant ,gives that old-school detective vibe without being flashy. The book includes all four novels (A Study in Scarlet, The Sign of the Four, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and The Valley of Fear), and I honestly enjoyed going through each of them slowly over a few weeks. The Hound one still holds up as the most atmospheric. Print quality is clean, font is comfortable to read, no eye strain. Pages are okay, not premium thick, but definitely good enough for the price. Binding feels solid, so you don’t have to baby it while reading. Just a heads-up: this is only the novels, not the short stories. I kinda missed The Adventure of the Speckled Band and The Final Problem, but that’s on me for not checking properly before buying. Still, as a collector, I’m glad I got this.

Arrived quickly and was exactly as described!

Hardcover book with golden markings..pages are thin (as long as your hands are not wet with water, should be ok). Great to carry around since this is four novels’ compilation edition. Thank you seller & publisher.
