Cheesy assembly
I purchased this item back in Feb 2021 and for a variety of reasons only got around to installing it about 4 weeks ago. The problem I was originally trying to fix was a high idle, after I installed the new I.A.C, the idle was always low....450-480 Rpm. Trying to analyze the new problem I eventually removed the throttle body and disassembled it. What I observed was that the new IAC's pintle, the air gap stopper, was lose and had unscrewed from the motor part of the assembly and jammed in the housing. I am unclear as to how they secure the pintle but in my case this wasn't done and an abundance of frustration and a few choice words were broadcast as a result.I eventually cleaned my old IAC, by soaking it for a couple of days it was good as new.The lesson here is if you buy something, install it straight away so you can at least try a warranty claim....
