Love this. Been using this one for several years and still extremely sharp and brings my pencils to a fine point. What more can you want?

Better than electric sharpeners
This is the only pencil sharpener I use. I am a teacher and classically trained musician and use pencils all the time. Trust me, I've tried them all, both mechanical and electric. And this one sharpens well all the time and doesn't lean the pencil.

I was made there
Many Staedtler products are made in Germany. Not this one. This one is made in that place where humans are rounded up and sold to manufacturing companies as laborers.

I am a teacher. Over the years, this is the very best handheld sharpener I have ever found. Also, it's quiet. No disturbing the class with a manual or electric sharpener!

FINALLY...Nice SHARP tips on my colored pencils!
I enjoy adult coloring and was looking for a small, inexpensive sharpener to keep with my colored pencils. I tried 2 others before purchasing this sharpener. The first two sharpeners were worthless, they continually broke more leads than they sharpened. This Staedtler sharpener works great! I get a very sharp point on both my Prisma Scholar and Crayola brand pencils. It is important to keep the sharpener empty. As it begans to fill up with shavings, the quality of sharpening is reduced. Rather than pay shipping, I picked this up locally at an office supply store. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I don't know what is wrong but I received this today and it won't sharpen any of the six brand of pencils I have tried--Maybe I got a LEMON or something--very disappointed!! I do know how to sharpen colored pencils---
