Genuine parts are a much better replacement.
The holes in the strap didn’t line up with the holes in the watch. I had to physically bend the spring pins in order to get them in which resulted in a very weak connection. One gentle tug and the strap came away. Have since purchased a genuine strap and it fitted perfectly.
