Really powerful for distributed computing tasks despite it's age. Best installed in a server.
I used this for experimenting with folding@home. It is very powerful but in a home PC it needs extra cooling or it won't work at all. It is also a bit big for a home PC. It might not fit! You definitely need to order extra fans for this. It will shut down immediately to protect itself without cooling. It is very difficult to damage this card by misuse. I didn't pay much for it. At the time it wasn't worth anything but if you are into any sort of 'bitcoin mining' on a budget or Blender rendering then I can recommend this card despite its age. The value of these cards are very high at the moment and it varies a lot. There are better cards but they are also extremely expensive.Other reviewers have issue with drivers for this card but I have had none with it either if installed in a server of in a home PC. The drivers for this card won't install if the card shuts itself off due to overheating and there will be an error sign in windows device manager but it's not drivers. It's heat, so get some extra USB fans for this card at the very least. If it is running hot then you can disable one of the GPUS (it shows up in windows as 2 separate GPUS) to help.
