illy Coffee Beans, Luxury Arabica Coffee Beans Selection, Brazil, 250g

We keep returning to these excellent beans even though our coffee-loving son keeps getting us to try locally roasted ones. The locally roasted beans are fresher and a little fruitier but just a little. The Illy beans, though, manage both strength and roundness, avoiding all unwanted bitterness. We’ve now tried so many over several years, but find these to be the best coffees beans for our DeLonghi bean to cup coffee machine.

I am not an coffee specialists but this was the best in illy coffee ranges : I had red and blue ( decaffeinate one ) ones previously - I guess you would understand what I mean . They are coloured by beans and this brown one was the best amount ground coffee but this beans version is further better ! My kitchen was filled with the aroma after grinding 200g for two cups for my french press . Brazilian was so far my hit among this brand .

I have enjoyed many of of Illy's whole bean coffees more than other brands, but I have particularly enjoyed their whole bean 250g taster tins from South America more than the Indian and Ethiopian coffee in the range. Illy's Brazil is such an enjoyable coffee. I find it highly enjoyable to drink at night, after a meal. Its sweet, creamy and advertised caramel notes, are an ideal way to offer the swansong to time spent with good food and good company - whether that be with family, friends, or music of your own choosing. Life just seems more palatable with such refinements. It differd from my favourite in the range: Illy's Colombia whole bean coffee. It has more of a rounded full-body, a sweeter creamy aftertaste and is far less punchy and fruity than the high notes of Illy's Colombia whole bean. I use 20g of beans and I feel that this 250g offering around twelve whole cups is good value for a tried and tested whole beam dark roast from Illy, rather than a hit and miss small roaster offering - at least in my experience. The tin reached me in fine condition. I'd highly recommend to all.

Bought this to try in our new Sage machine as he loves stronger coffee and his exact words were “best coffee beans he’s ever had” (not counting freshly made ones) and he enjoys buying them regularly now. Excellent taste and flavours. Definitely worth the price for the quality of the coffee. I definitely feel like they are even fresher than usual bags of coffee beans as they’re in a tin with a full can seal on them (like tins have) and this makes them way more durable during delivery if we can’t get them whilst we are out shopping.

Nice taste and strength, found slightly bitter if fine ground so went coarser and made very good espresso, lattes and cortado's, prefer to the red standard can

Illy coffee is excellent and I keep coming back to it after I have tried any other make of Arabica coffee but I will probably keep to their Illys’ generic beans in future as these special origin beans do not really merit the extra price tag
