So, we bought this a few years ago. My son is so curious about all things in the world. Seemed like a good and fun thing to buy and do experiments of sorts maybe with the kids . When I think of a pound of any powder, I think of not much amount wise. But with this, it actually was plenty of product for the cost and the purpose of our household even purchasing it. My thing, it wasn't as strong as we hoped. Strong, yes.. strong enough to stick to so many things that my son and I played with in it that the stuff wouldn't come off. We had to grab a super strong & solid magnet from the husband's garage to put up onto the items with this 'iron powder' stuck to it in order to get the stuff off. Even then, a few small toys were thrown away due to being unable to clean this powder off. Almost sticky like..but not..? The #1 suggestion, DO this & anything & everything with this iron powder in a huge tray. Deep tray. Heck, replace the play sand in a Sand or water table with it maybe even?? Sounds neat?- just monitor 24/7 haha. It is soooo messy!! So just Def be okay and ready with a little broom & dustpan or a small vacuum. But if you don't want the product to be wasted then I highly recommend the tub method. So then y'all play with this in the large tub with whatever toys/magnets, and whn done, wash up and snap a lid on your Tupperware container and stash it up high for a later date chosen by You, mom. Rather than leaving the tote low on a shelf for your little one to drag off with and trust, the magnetic iron lower, even with only being '1LB' a little one getting ahold of this stuff without a parents knowledge , it would be a MESS!!

It’s dirty, but my class loves playing with it! Does what it should. My boys/ students love it.

Iron filings work fine.

Used it to show magnetic fields. Little hard to clean off the other magnets.
