Excellent Green Tea
I've been to Vietnam and enjoyed their delicious and very unique green tea, sold by vendors on every street corner. I've not tasted anything like it anywhere. The best is called Tan Cuong from Thai Nguyen province. My first cup tasted like some ancient forest medicine. But during the next 2 hours I felt euphoric and couldn't wait for more. From then on, I was drinking green tea on the streets of Hanoi at every opportunity. There, I learned that the Vietnamese growers are very proud of their green tea, as well as their traditional farming techniques, using natural and sustainable methods for insect control and fertilization. Since I returned from Vietnam, I've tried different "Vietnamese" teas, but none have tasted the same. My guess is that most of the really good tea is saved for domestic consumption and the inferior quality is sold for export. However, this tea is an exception. It's very high quality and comes from the best tea growing regions of the country. I can recommend this tea without hesitation for anyone who wants to try the distinctive green tea of Vietnam.
