Rothco Alice Pack Frame with Attachments – Includes Padded Shoulder Straps and Kidney Pad Waistbelt – Lightweight Aluminum Construction

I needed to make a sturdy carrier for going on hikes with my 15 year old dog. Most of the options on the market were lacking in comfort and durability. I did ruck marches with the ALICE frames back in the Army, and thought it would be a great platform to incorporate into a dog carrier backpack. Overall, the build quality seems good and the frame is very lightweight. It is not uncomfortable to wear and has been perfect for my intended uses. My only complaint is that I wish it had a chest strap because it pulls pretty hard outward on your shoulders when fully loaded (I added a chest strap, but it'd be nice if it came with one). I built an aluminum frame for the dog carrier and it bolted up nicely with the frame. The frame and carrier together weight in at 15 pounds, fully loaded with my dog it comes in at 30 pounds. The frame handles this weight flawlessly with no major flex of the metal. I would definitely recommend this frame to anyone looking for a lightweight, strong, and affordable ruck sack platform.

Customer service isn't dead folks. I went with one of the used ones from an outside seller (AmmoCanMan) and ordered a military surplus frame. I had a MINOR bump in the road I could handle myself, piddly in fact, but I contacted the seller just for FYI purposes so they could check their stock and avoid the outside chance of an issue in the future. Got IMMEDIATE personal contact. AmmoCanMan and crew went above and beyond (really..not a cliche') to make things right although I told them I didn't need or expect anything. These guys are fantastic. I will NOT hesitate to go to them again and will definitely point my friends in their direction. I cannot say enough about how helpful and understanding they are. Finding a seller that cares nowadays is huge. Big A+ stamp of approval. As for the frames, I know there's been a few styles over the years, maybe some are stronger than the others. I see "flimsy" in some reviews. These things have been around a while so I guess the possibility exists for a beat down one or a cheapo reproduction, but honestly, they're tough as heck and a serious bang for the buck. Really can't go wrong with an ALICE unless you don't like the whole "green" camo thing. lol Update: Like everything else, Chinese reproductions exist. Check out youtube and do the google thing. After Chinese dry wall and lead paint toys would you expect a quality Chinese backpack frame? I think not. Check with the seller and look for the real deal. The REAL ones are what I reviewed and I stand by them. Good, tough, and a lot of bang for the buck. Chinese repro...you're on your own.

Excellent Construction!!

I bought this Rothko pack for the same reason that I suspect most people did, for a Ghostbusters cosplay. Though this pack is an obvious recreation of the actual military grade Alice, it works great for my intended purpose. Looks great mounted to a Proton Pack.

It is as advertised. I recently got a HasLab Ghostbusters Proton Pack and the first Alice Frame I got was the incorrect one as two of the side brackets did not fit. But this one is the correct one and all the brackets fit perfectly. I highly recommend it for those looking to cosplay with their packs. Value was reasonably priced and arrived in one piece.

This frame feels too light to stand up to the riggers of a full ALICE pack. If you plan to use it for anything rugged, I’d seek a real U.S. military surplus frame, not this one which was cheaply made in China. It did serve my purpose, however as a costume piece for the Ghostbusters proton pack. I was pleased to see it has a black frame, (though the waistband is too think for GB - something that could be replaced). I’m sure there are other inaccuracies, but it meets my requirements for accuracy, as I am only attaching the deluxe proton pack from Spirit Halloween. Since it is priced about the same as a surplus frame, I expected higher quality.

Like many others here, I purchased this as a cheap(er) alternative to a "real" ALICE pack frame for a Ghostbusters proton pack. The metal is fairly thin/lightweight, but it works for my purposes of hauling around a large chunk of plastic and electronics for 8 hours. I haven't had trouble with the straps coming undone but I also don't have the pack loaded up with too much weight. There are mounting holes at the bottom for attaching your standard ALICE accessories. I had to attach my prop using zip ties for design reasons, but it's holding up fine. The frame came with a ROTHCO tag attached; whether it is genuine or not I can't confirm. I also can't attest to its durability as my pack weighs less than 20 lbs and is not used in extreme conditions.

Pensado exclusivamente para mi Proton Pack, quedó excelente, casi no pesa nada y ya venía armado, el unico detalle que le veo es que si se le usa con mucho pesa las correas pueden soltarse, pero al menos para lo que lo necesito está perfecto.

Obviously this is a Chinese copy that is not as good as the originals. Saying that, I bought this to fit onto a medium (Chinese copy) ALICE pack. Since the originals were over engineered, this is more than adequate. Even though the padding on the straps and the kidney belt is half as thick as the originals, for a medium ALICE pack, it does just fine (especially at this price). For a large ALICE pack, I would just buy after market shoulder straps and kidney belt with thicker padding. The rivets on mine were intact. The other great thing about the ALICE frame, is it is so simple and versatile, you can easily throw it on other packs, and modify it to your heart's content! Think the rivets are weak, then just weld the frame together, or replace the rivets with bolts. That's the great thing about ALICE, you can modify it to your hearts content. With just a few extra straps, pouches, paracord, aftermarket parts and a sewing kit, you are ready to rock-and-roll. Vastly superior to MOLLE, just give it a try!

Der Artikel kam gut verpackt und in einwandfreien Zustand bei mir an. Habe den Frame als Teil eines Protonen Packs benutzt. Dieses Modell von Rothco ist meines Wissens nach "Screen Akurat" und wurde zum Bau der Hero Props in Ghostbusters Afterlife verwendet. Bild 1 Neuzustand, Bild 2 Zustand montiert und nach weathering. Bin sehr zufrieden!

Perfetto per cosplay ghost

J'ai utilisé ce produit pour porter des caisses (avec pose d'équerres à l'arrière). L'appareil est léger et me laisse les mains libres. Point négatif, on sent un peu la barre.
