Bad to the bone
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Yes. This one right here. Get off the fence and get it. Mounted on Mossberg Maverick with 20" barrel. Takes a bit of time to get perfectly where I wanted it. Mounted a QD sling swivel on the opposing side. WARNING: you should probably have an inch pound torque wrench for this. If not. You run the risk of clamping too tight and crushing the magazine tube, which will obviously hinder the function of your shotgun. If you tinker this much, just go buy a decent gunsmith torque wrench. Inch lbs. You've been warned.

Like the song by The Cars, "Just What I Needed"
I had previously purchased a CDM attachment that came missing some parts, it was pictured with a swivel and flashlight ring. The only thing that arrived was the clamp. I was very disappointed. Ended up getting a refund.Gave them another chance and purchased this, it came with everything pictured, and even had another ring included. Very satisfied with my purchase. My only (minor) complaint is that the pads included don't seem to offer much padding, but I had some 3M Adhesive pads I was able to make work.Fits both my Winchester SXP and 870 Tactical.

ROCK SOLID MOUNT!!!
Yes there are less expensive mounts. Is your life of the lives of your family worth the small savings BY you g cheap?COMPROMISE SOMEWHERE ELSE.HERE IS WHAT YOU ARE GETTING WHEN YOU GO WITH THIS MOUNT:Super solid machined aluminum.Easy to installEasy to removeThey provide adhesive pads to prevent scratching of the gun. They've held up fine even when the barrel is hot. This mount secures your light and one other accessory in two places- The mag tube- The barrelTwo large Allen Bolts cross between the barrel and mag tube gap to very securely clamp this down onto your firearm. It ain't going nowhere unless you want to remove it for disassembly of your shotgun. Which is easy to do. Simple. Remove both bolts and the assembly comes apart. But otherwise it's staying right where you want it.Buy this and forget about anything else. You won't look back.

Not as pictured.... two rings hold the light; one screw holds the clamps together.
CDM appears to have updated the "R" design; it is not as pictured. Two rings hold the flashlight; only one screw (center) that holds the clamps together. On the clamp I received, it's apparent that they neglected to drill one of the holes in on the side opposite of the one flashlight rings. This means you have to remove the entire clamp in order to install / remove the flashlight. The overall quality of this clamp is good, but not as pictured; the missing hole is simply poor quality control. The threaded holes are simply tapped; no steel thread inserts. Fits the Mossberg 930 SPX.

Liked it so much I bought another.
So I originally got one of these for my Dad's Mossberg maverick father's day build.I ended up liking the build quality and design so much I got another one for my Benelli m4.The ring fits a Streamlight Hl-x perfectly, which is a touch under an inch in diameter. It also holds it to the gun nice and tight (as in compact). Also the picotiny section is good if you want to use a rail mounted light like the Streamlight Protac rail mount options.Haven't shot either gun with the mounts yet but it should work just fine.I know some people say it's expensive but in my opinion it's a decent price. Especially compared to the Impact Weapons Components Benelli mount. An even though it's a bit more than the GG&G light mounts it's much more stable.Either way if there are any issues I'll be sure to leave an update.

does not fit my friend's Rem870
The barrel and the tube beneath it holding the six shells, are not the same diameter. So this product does not fit his shotgun. I did not consider this. So I am returning this item to seller. No where in the product description was the inside diameter of the light ring provided. The flashlights he has are either too large of a diameter to fit the light ring, or too small.
