Good value for the money. Great little kayak!
This kayak is very comfortable, lightweight, well made, and tracks well, for the price. It’s not built for speed, but is very stable in the water. I’m happy with my purchase. Update: I paddled for a 15 mile day trip on a large lake in this kayak. This boat handled large 2 to 3 foot wakes from big power boats like a champ! I have lower back problems, but this adjustable seat was comfortable all day. Dry storage area stayed dry. I’m a 5’10” female, and I love this little boat! Can’t wait to do another long day trip in it!

Great Kayak
I am a total beginner and purchased this kayak because I needed something well built and not wobbly. I was very impressed with the quality of this kayak. My first time out I fell in love with it. Very sturdy and not easy to top over. It is a bit heavy for me to carry but when you have quality it is expected. Any beginner I would recommend this kayak. It is top quality and worth the price. I always say you get what you pay for, I highly recommend this kayak.

Not bad for a casual paddle
This is a great little boat for a casual paddle down the stream- which is what I wanted it for. I bought it largely for the seat and have not been disappointed; it is very comfortable! The boat is short and relatively flat so it is very stable in the water, but because of that also does not track super well and is relatively slow. It's not very heavy, so with a little practice I am able to lift it up and down off the rack on my car (crosstrek) by myself (5'5'' woman); I find that parking next to a curb helps with this. I would recommend it for the casual paddler, or anyone who needs better back support than the typical kayak seat offers!

Fits inside my minvan!
I love this kayak <3 I've been a paddleboarder for awhile now and recently decided I wanted to try kayaking. My vehicle does not have a roof rack and I was nervous about trying to take it on and off by myself easily since I'm not very strong. I have a standard minivan so I was really hoping I could just throw it in the back of my van for easy transport. When I first got it I was blown away by just how pretty it was but it look BIG, I had my doubts but it actually fits perfectly into my van with the 3rd row and 2nd row middle seat down, I can even still see all three mirrors easily because of the narrow bow! I can get this kayak, my two kids, myself + another adult, and 3 uninflated paddleboards into the van for a fun family adventure day! After some practice I also discovered I can somewhat easily hoist it over my shoulder (balancing the padded part on the shoulder) and carry it shorter distances, and I am not very strong!. Love the dry bag and convenience of the phone holder. Cockpit is large enough I can easily take my my 8 year old in it as well...I actually haven't gotten the chance to use it solo yet but it's already so easy to paddle even with the extra weight! The chair is sooooo comfortable, and easy to take in and out for chilling at the beach when your not out in the water. I even used it as a gaming chair one , lol! Recommend!

Comfortable and it floats
I have had the older sister of this kayak, the Pelican Premium Pioneer 100XR Angler Kayak, for the last 3 years. I bought this one for my girlfriend so we can go kayaking together. (Honestly I would have gotten this one for myself had I known about it before 3 yrs ago) There are only 2 differences between them. Available colors, which has no effect on performance, and the Premium Pioneer 100XR Angler Kayak ,as the name hints, has fishing rod holders which also does not effect performance. It is my 3rd Kayak so I have a little bit of experience with them. The most important thing is that it tracks well. Tracking is a boats ability to stay on course. This Kayak does that fairly well. I'd give tracking 4/5 *. The 2nd most important thing is comfort. You want a comfortable seat or after 30-40 minutes on the water your lower back is gonna start to get sore. This Kayak has a comfortable seat which is removable and can be used as a beach chair. It's also nice because it doesn't sit flesh with the bottom so if water gets in your not sitting in it the rest of your trip. The 3rd thing you want to look for is light weight. This Kayak is around 40lbs. This is important because the water is not always close to parking. Color is something you should consider. Get what you like but bright colors are a good choice as they help make you more visible to other boats. I enjoy catching sunset so om often paddling back when it's starting to get dark. One really nice feature I really like about this Kayak is the adjustable foot rest. Im 6'2" so really tall. The leg rest are also greatly appreciated. I glued a pool noodle on my last Kayak due to a lack of the leg rest. The final thing to consider is size. A shorter Kayak, such as this one, is much easier to store and makes it lighter. A longer Kayak will usually have better tracking. This one is good for its length but it would theoretically have better tracking if it was made longer. One more thing. This Kayak is difficult to capsize. You have to really try to fall out intentionally. So if falling out is a fear, fear not as this Pelican has your back . Unrelated to a review I advise people to practice climbing back in the Kayak from swimming in shallow water. Master this then falling out won't seem so threatening. I personally like to jump out on hot days in the middle of a lake and swim around my kayak. I know this was a long review but I tried to be helpful as I can.

I have used this kayak a lot over the last two summers. I have Scotty mounts on them as I am usually fishing with this kayak. Very comfortable. Easy enough to carry to the water. The cockpit is a good size for me (6ft) and I can place a small tackle box between my legs without issue. I can get into some really shallow areas that others cannot get to for fishing. My youngest son caught his first fish while using one of these kayaks. I would recommend this boat for sure.

I don't have experience of a kayaker to do a proper technical review. The kayaks were delivered perfectly, they have lots of storage room and my first small ride in the Ocean was very good. I live in an inlet so no currents or waves. I believe it is very stable but not fast, so if you want speed maybe that's not your best option. The chair inthe kayak is amazing and it is very spacious. I am 260 pounds and the kayak limit says 300, but I didn't have any issue... After my first ride there was a bit of water on the kayak that came with the small waves and sometimes when you paddle, nothing to worry about. I am looking forward to use it in lakes with more steady water, I believe it will be more fun than the Ocean as sometimes winds and currents may go against you. 5 stars all around for Pelican, very nice product.

We bought the Kayak on sale. At the moment it's way to high (over MSRP). But at the time, the price was perfect, delivery was very quick and the kayak's features are very good. My wife loves the comfortable seat and the color. ;-) The storage hatch/tank has a plastic bag underneath, so her stuff stays dry under every condition. Yes, we would buy the Kayak again for the price we paid (599 CAD)

Good kayak with nice features. Well padded knee areas and convenient storage. The seat provides great support, but the “removable “ feature creates headaches for transporting. There is no way to lock it in place or lock the back in folded position. We have attempted many solutions but the removable seat is just a silly gimmick in the current configuration. The hassle of the removable seat offsets the benefit of the comfort.

We order two of these kayak's in the fall last year & deliver in January. No damage to both kayak's. Once it was warm enough to kayak we have been out 6 times for over 7 km's per trip. We love the seats, the bottle holder, the cell holder, padded knees and the stability of the kayak. Also, plenty of room in the storage bladder & keeps everything dry.
