Shoreline Marine Cleat 6" Galvanized
These are larger than the two cleats that I replaced on my 14' Jon boat that were cracked and broken. They actually lined up pretty well with the holes from the old cleats. These are very strong and durable. I use one for tying off the boat and one to secure the anchor. Both are hold up very good and look pretty good. Overall a great buy.

A bit misleading
These cleats are listed as galvanized. Galvanizing is a process of hot dipping in molten zinc to enhance abrasion resistance as well as corrosion resistance. These cleats are primitive cast iron that have been spray painted. A far cry from galvanized. The biggest feature on the cleat is the word “CHINA” in shiny raised letters. I’m pretty sure you can read it from space. The only thing missing is a CCP flag in fluorescent red and yellow. I got the 10” cleat. The holes are cast for a 3/8” bolt with a 9/16” hex head. The inset for the hex head is a bit too small. I suspect they were fabricated for metric hardware - wildly popular in the People’s Republic of China. Typically, cast iron products will go through a finishing process to remove burrs and imperfections. These cleats were obviously handed to some dude with a spray can fresh out of the mold. Sharp edges can be a problem when dealing with nylon rope. I’m not concerned with the structural integrity of the cleats. I use them to tie down a 24’ jet boat and have every confidence my boat will stay tethered to the dock. My concerns are more of aesthetics and accurate listening.

Perfect for Pinterest-mania
I bought these to make a towel "bar" out of boat cleats and marine rope for my nautical themed bathroom because I am addicted to Pinterest. They work great, I love that they are a bit rough because they really grab towels. FYI they do not come with any kind of screw to attach them to the wall so you will have to send your husband out to the hardware store in a fit of "IT HAS TO BE DONE RIGHT NOW" rage because you are eight months pregnant and things have gotten a little out of hand. Maybe you should go lie down.

Perfect addition to our Dock
Perfect addition to our Dock! you need bolts that fit down into holes obviously and be careful when your drilling into wood that it's on a permanent crossbeam underneath because a heavy boat will eventually ripped that cleat out on a storm! I put a couple on my pylons too to hang the dock ropes up so they are easy access coming back home to dock!

I'm building my own sailboat to sail around the world. This is the first part I bought~ next maybe a hull, an anchor, masts, deck, sails - probably just another cleat - they're cheap and this one surpassed all whirlwind expectations!

Very sturdy arrived on time
Really sturdy for the price. We didn’t use them for the intended use but used as a shower hook at the cottage for a nautical feel. Works great

Great idea for a towel hook in a nautical themed room.
Can't wait to get this fixed to the wall for towel hooks in our newly decorated nautical family bathroom. They are very strong and sturdy...no chance of them breaking.

Strong and Compact
These cleats are strong. The shape and way of fastening fits to the narrow gunwales of my aluminum boat.
