I've always wanted some better odor removal with my air purifier. I have the Honeywell 17000, and it has an activated charcoal wrap, but I've always doubted its efficacy. It has *never* cleared up the odor for more than the first day or so. I've also always noticed how my air purifier has this huge, empty space inside. I thought I could drop some activated charcoal packs there. So I did exactly that, and it freakin' works! I'm a genius. I put three packs in my air purifier and at first I thought it wasn't working, but after leaving the room for a few hours and coming back, I realized the smells were all gone. I imagined that it might at least smell like *something* like after spraying febreeze. Nope, it is simply odorless. There is no smell, good or bad. This worked a lot better than I expected, so I'm quite happy. I've never tried charcoal packs before, since I wasn't sure how effective it would be just letting it sit in a corner. However, when combined with my air purifier so that air is constantly pulled through the packs, it has worked amazingly well. These charcoal packs look great. The fabric does not feel cheap and it's got a neat pattern. The charcoal seems to be packed well and no dust comes out. It is not refillable, but at this price I figure I'll just buy new packs when I need them. I bought some sequin boots custom made for me. The glue smelled so bad that I left the boots I never wore on the back porch for 2 years stuffed with newspaper paper, they smelled so bad I could not bring them in the house. They were totally toxic smelling, smelled like gasoline, but they were beautiful, so I thought I would give these charcoal packets a try and they worked. Bought to help with musty odor in old wooden storage case with fabric liner. Might work for your purposes but did little to help with the odor in my case despite several trials with case open, case closed, warm storage, cool storage, etc.

These really do cure stinky shoes, and every once in a while, if you leave them exposed to hot sun for an afternoon. all the stench they've absorbed goes out of them and they can be re-used over and over. Good for sandals, too. Your Birkenstocks will thank you.

I have no idea what this is but they’re all covered in some sort of strange wet residue, which is strange itself, because these are supposed to absorb moisture. I have ordered a similar product before and they were bone dry as they should be.
