“Budget” shocks for setting your crawler up with droop suspension!
These are decent shocks for the money, they look great, maybe some manufacturing flaws but I’m not super picky. If you’re like me and don’t want crazy branding all over your scaler, you can turn the shocks towards the inside of the vehicle so you don’t have to look at the cheesy “mountain” text on the shock body. The blue is not a true blue but more of a turquoise color, which doesn’t bother me but might be important to other people purchasing these shocks who are looking specifically for a true anodized blue color. Anodizing looks great, some machining flaws on some of the shock bodies themselves but overall very nice to look at, made my kit look way better. The springs included in the kit probably won’t work too great for a scaler, unless your rig is super heavy and you use the softest springs. I wanted a shorter spring so I could achieve a “half droop” type setup for the crawler kit I just built. I purchased two sets of springs for the Yeah Racing Desert Lizard shocks and used the shortest, softest springs from each pack. This allowed me to have proper rebound for the vehicle to sit evenly and carry the weight of any accessories I will be adding without bottoming out the suspension. I also added 32.5wt Losi shock oil to make the stroke smoother. I am very impressed with the results to say the least. In retrospect I should have just bought desert lizard shocks to begin with but these were an inexpensive alternative so I could experiment. They certainly aren’t the smoothest shocks ever but they do exactly what I wanted.I should mention that I purchased the 90mm variety and with the shorter springs and oil, my final result was about 86mm uncompressed. With the weight of the vehicle causing the suspension to sag and rest on the rebound springs they settle right where I needed them to be.My kit shocks were 75mm and these 90mm gave me the extra ride height I needed along with the proper amount of travel and scale driving experience I was looking for.Out of the box, without any modifications, I wouldn’t recommend them, too stiff, too tall, and too much rebound.I have not had any leakage issues with the shocks which is not something I was expecting at this price point. Very pleasant surprise, though they did come with extra o-rings, seals, and such.I’ll bring this somewhat long-winded review to a close by saying I would only recommend these shocks to someone who is looking for a specific droop setup. I would not recommend for a basher because I don’t believe they would be strong enough, with that I would recommend purchasing different springs for them or I have heard of people cutting the stock springs in half. If you want quality, save your money and buy some Desert Lizards instead. My scaler has awesome articulation and flex now, these totally changed the way it drives/crawls. Regardless of any of the negatives I may have pointed out, these are a huge upgrade for the plastic shocks that came with my kit.

Budget shocks
I needed shocks on a budget To get a rc car going and these came through for me. Thanks Injora! Easy set up. I ended up buying 2 sets, because it turned out I needed taller shocks in the front.

Great for the price but have realistic expectations
I like internal spring shocks (like desert lizards) and wanted to try these as I really like the look. The internal springs internal are varied by stiffness (rate) so I was able to choose the right rate for the weight of my truck . As the shock and spring are compressed the spring itself is somewhat long and limits the compression available for the shock in general.Though these are 90mm length extended, I can only compress the shock just around 10-12mm before it bottoms out because of the length of the spring taking up room inside the shock.I used them this weekend with an Axial UMG10 and they worked fine, and the compression amount was sufficient for trail running. For the cost of these shocks for a set of 4, I would use them again and will keep them on this truck. But keep your expectations realistic - they are what they are and for $18 you will have limited compression distance.

Simple and effective shocks
Pretty basic, but one of my go to sets. Soft, med, hard springs, stickers lol. The injora we all know and love!

Complete Garbage
Inexpensive? YesCheap (which is different from inexpensive)? YESThey do NOT compress all the way, there just physically isn't enough room in the cylinder for it to fully compress. They LEAK like crazy. They do not operaty smoothly. There is a clear "gravely" feeling to the compression of the cylinder.Returned for refund. There is no way that anyone who is actually into the RC hobby could be happy with these. I have a feeling that the only people happy with them are new to the hobby or these are the first upgrades they've ever purchased and are placing them onto a vehicle that itself is very cheap with even worse components.TDLR: If you're really into the RC hobby, don't take a chance on these. They're garbage. You truly do get what you pay for.

Downgrade for almost any RTR crawler
Two of three spring options have unusable stiffness. Limited travel. Poor articulation even with shock keys offering many mounting options. One shock will not compress much of the time. Mountain logo looks so ugly. I think one day I'll use them on a mud truck build. Not finding anything but disadvantages comparing these to the stock shocks on the SCX10 II Trail Honcho and the stock ones leak bad. Two stars for inexpensive cost and otherwise good looks. Will hurt performance of your crawler though.
