It will need new strings and setting up to get the full experience.
I have heard that the Gibson version does not stay in tune well? this is true, but the Epiphone version appears to stay in tune a lot better. The tremolo is not made for dive bombing only lighter vibrato so be warned, that said it is a great guitar for the price and the new design makes it as close to a Gibson as you could get, great sound if done right and don't worry about the body it is solid mahogany with a veneer on top of the front and back, some people won't like it but it still is a cracking guitar, I would get one now before the price goes up, enjoy! .
